Romantik Villa

A really, really, really, really nice place!

Pros: Every morning, the host/hostess arrived with a basket of fresh warm bread and Portuguese custard tarts. This along with the Nespresso style coffee machine and a liberal supply of pods, made every morning something to look forward to. The location is on top of a hill, but there is plenty of parking at the front entrance. The beach is a short 10 minute walk away and the beach is amazing too. Olivier and Patricia (hosts) and Papapaya (their sweet doggy) are on sight, but seldom seen. They were a great source of local information and their dinner suggestions were spot on. I only wish that I had more time to spend at this wonderful location.

Cons: This has nothing to do with the Romantik Villa but the climb up to the house after a full dinner was a challenge!

Pros: Amazing accommodation close to the village centre. Great hosts and the facilities, with surprise welcome gifts and super comfy bed. We were also given recommendations for the local restaurants, which were delicious. Really loved our stay!

Cons: If you walk, keep in mind the property is on a hill :) but it is not too high, easy enough to manage

A beautiful and peaceful retreat with tremendous hosts.

Pros: Exceptionally clean with all the facilities needed including a large fridge and a hot plate for cooking to an ‘honesty bar’ that has beer and ice cream at a very reasonable price. The most comfortable Sun Loungers are located around a decent sized pool in beautiful gardens. The hosts could not do more for their guests from the personal welcome to hand delivering breakfast baskets every morning. Nothing was too much trouble for superb hosts who clearly value their excellent reputation. Whilst the walk up and down the steep hill to the village will be hard for some, the tranquil Romantik Villa makes it worth it while. We could not recommend this place higher and will certainly be looking to return to some the best hosts we have encountered.

Cons: Leaving it at the end!

Perfect!

Pros: Very comfortable, the room was large and had access directly to the pool. The kitchenette was handy for breakfast and snacks. The villa is secluded and in a lovely setting with views of the sea. The thing that makes it really special is Olivier and Patricia who go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. We would definitely go back.

Cons: Nothing - it was a perfect few days, wish we had stayed longer

Salema from the heights

Pros: We were there for the occasion of our wedding anniversary- number 36 so not a special one, but it's always nice to mark the occasion. The whole of the site is beautifully landscaped and cared for and the accommodation was excellent, with lots of nice little touches, good lighting and a comfortable bed. Sylvie delivered the breakfast bread and pastries with a big smile and was a great hostess.

Cons: The negative,of course, is the climb up to the villa from the village but this was pointed out in advance and I'm sure taxis were available. We tackled it twice and that was more than sufficient in the heat of summer. We were a bit confused about location initially, but you just have to keep going, up to the top. All in all, a lovely stay.

Perfection in a lovely part of the Algarve

Pros: It was perfect. Beautiful villa, great views, wonderful attention to detail and incredible and perfect service. Best hotel stay in many years

Pros: Romantik Villa is a little piece of paradise here on earth! Beautiful and quiet surroundings, wonderful view of the ocean The hosts are lovely and always react swiftly to any needs and wishes and bring fresh pastries every day in the morning which makes for a delicious breakfast! It's a bit of a walk uphill from the beach and the center of the town (about 10 minutes) but it's completely doable and keeps you healthy anyways ;) The facilities are modern and very tastefully decorated. There is a hot plate and some dishes available so it is possible to cook simple dishes. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to be back!

A wonderful spot for visiting this area with lovely gardens

Pros: The location was amazing and just lovely sitting in the gardens. Breakfast was great with warm rolls and pastries.

Pros: I loved the room - tastefully decorated. Very welcoming hosts. The property was private and quiet with a pool and gardens. Breakfast was great. All in all a wonderful stay. The only downside for hikers is that it's located at the top of a steep hill - not so bad in the AM but you'll be ready to sit down on arrival. Also, only about a 7-minute walk to restaurants.
