Casa Mar Adentro

A fantastic location overlooking the bay - the villa is beautifully designed and spacious.

Pros: Freddie, the owner and architect of the villa met us with the keys and gave us a brief history of the property and the island. He also gave us a Madeira cake and a bottle of wine on our arrival. The Villa is situated on a clifftop/edge of the hill in the best location overlooking the small town. The property is spacious and an absolute delight to chill out and only a 5 minute walk away down the hill into town - fabulous.

Cons: The road leading to the villa is seriously steep and a little scary in a hire car when you're not used to a left hand drive car.

Beautiful, historic, family home with a spectacular view.

Pros: Freddie was a fantastic host. The house was stunning in its design and the location second to none. My family (including a 3yo) thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The views across the bay and the Atlantic were exactly what we were looking for.

Cons: Nothing...though some visitors may not enjoy the steep road to the house.

Pros: The House was so spacious, great facilities and a magnificent view. The town is lovely and just takes a couple of minutes to reach the restaurants and shops. The best house we have ever rented and when we go back to Madeira we can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Cons: The first time we drove up the hill to the house, but we soon got used to it.

We absolutely loved the house, its location and the views.

Pros: The location of the house above the bay is superb and provides great views. The house itself is very spacious and Freddy has created imaginative use of space. The house is light an airy, with a well provisioned kitchen on the ground floor, large lounge, bedrooms, dressing/ walk through wardrobe and twin shower rooms. The third bedroom on the mezzanine really uses the space up to the ceiling and provides wonderful view across the lounge and through the windows to the bay. There is a good sized garden to the front, which has sheltered areas for eating, as well as loungers. Being so elevated gives you a true panoramic view of the village and bay.

Cons: The only thing to note is the road to the top part of the village is quite steep and narrow. You get used to it quickly but be prepared to toot the horn as you approach the bends.

Helt fantastisk

Pros: Stort rummeligt hus med en fantastisk udsigt. Huset havde alt man skulle bruge. Dejlig have og terrasse. Rent og pænt indvendigt. Virkelig sød og hjælpsom ejer. Fin by med restauranter og indkøbsmuligheder.

Cons: Meget smal og stejl vej til huset.

Außergewöhnliche Unterkunft mit tollem Ausblick

Pros: Ein unglaublich schöner Ausblick und ein Garten mit vielen Blumen und essbaren Dingen. Ein besonderes Architektenhaus.

Cons: Wir waren etwas irritiert von den 3 Kameras, die im Haus installiert sind. Eine davon auch im Wohnzimmer mit Einblickn in die obere Galerie, in der auch ein Schlafbereich ist. Wir wussten vorher nichts davon und wurden auch nicht darüber informiert. Man sollte auch wissen, dass das Haus etwas hellhörig ist. Das heißt die Privatsphäre ist dadurch nicht unbedingt gegeben.

Pros: Ci ha aperto il proprietario in persona e ci ha raccontato la storia della casa, del borgo, dandoci molti suggerimenti. La casa è in una posizione fantastica, sopra la baia di uno dei borghi più belli dell'isola. In origine era una casa di pescatori ma è stata trasformata in una casa dal design contemporaneo, luminosa e con grandi spazi. Mi è piaciuto molto l'atmosfera vera e non come quella di molte case in affitto, belle a vedersi ma fredde e impersonali. Qui l'atmosfera era completamente diversa. Per non parlare degli accessori.

Cons: Forse poco adatta a che non ama salire in auto su strade strettissime e in forte pendenza. Ma il percorso è veramente breve e in quattro giorni non abbiamo mai incontrato nessuno che veniva dall'altra parte

Is perfect for me and my friends

Pros: There were so many things to like about. We’ve seen the pictures. But in person was totally different feels. Freddie was so welcoming and his architect design of the house is superb and nicely executed.

Cons: Is really your preference what like and not to like. I found the house is pretty amazing. Maybe little more lighting in the bathroom. But really didn’t bother me.

Heel mooi huis op fantastische plek!

Pros: Het huis is prachtig! Het heeft echt de wow-factor. Het is echt het mooiste huis van de hele baai. We hebben er een heerlijk verblijf gehad. We missen het uitzicht nu al :-)
