If you want a taste of true local Madeira with privacy and an exceptional view - look no further!

Pros: Great location, away from the crowds, in a small local village. We had a lot of privacy, an exceptional view. The host was so friendly and helpful during all of our stay through WhatsApp. There were little local lizards everywhere but we loved them, absolutely adorable. Just down the road there’s a local bar and a small grocery store, they taught us how to prepare poncha and told us about the local customs. We felt so welcome both in the village and in Casa da Achada! The location was great, although you absolutely need a car to get around. From this stay it’s: 45mins by car to Funchal, 37/40mins to Port Moniz, +/- 1h to Fanal Forest, 12 mins to Calheta (whale watching cruise and marina), 14 mins to Paul do Mar (restaurants, bars, seaside), 15 mins to Jardim do Mar (in our opinion the best restaurants in the area of Casa da Achada plus very charming little seaside town).

Cons: It’s a shame there’s no AC as the air in the place becomes stagnant and unpleasant if the windows are closed.

Incredible, peaceful place to stay

Pros: The house is amazing! The location is so peaceful with the most beautiful views, the stars at night were incredible. Everything was so clean and there is so much space. We were a couple but would have still been spacious for four. The host was really friendly and easy to contact and key collection was simple. A perfect relaxing break, would love to stay again.

Cons: Nothing at all!

Agréable maison typique en pierres de pays

Pros: Au calme, suffisamment spacieux pour notre famille de 4 personnes (2 adultes et 2 enfants de 18 et 10 ans), maison fraîche quand il fait très chaud dehors, jardin et salon de jardin, cuisine fonctionnelle + une cuisine d'été, salon avec billard, parking clôturé pour le véhicule. Supermarché pas loin, route principale toute proche. Lieux de baignade à quelques kilomètres. Arrivée et départ autonomes.

Cons: Les lits sont un peu petits (anciens standards) quand on est grand 1,95m ça peu être gênant. En dehors de ce détail c'est très bien (3 nuits passées).

Pros: Gut und liebevoll eingerichtetes allein stehendes Haus mit schönem gepflegtem Garten, tolle ruhige Lage, wunderbare Aussicht, gut für Ausflüge, auch zu Fuss.

Cons: Die Frösche quaken manchmal die ganze Nacht - mit der Zeit gewöhnt man sich daran und zurück zuhause fehlt es einem schon fast ;-)
