Perfect place for our holiday

Pros: The property was ideal for what we needed , it was clean and spacious and in an ideal location. The furniture as mentioned in other reviews is not modern but it’s clean and functional which is, as far as I’m concerned enough. The No 33 bus runs into Funchal on a regular basis. Mary was great a communicator and we made a couple of suggestions to her which she welcomed. We would happily stay again

Ideal base for touring the island and has everything you need

Pros: Liked the driveway parking and the view across Funchal. Overall, we were happy with the accommodation which was ideally located for the places we wanted to visit. It isn't all that far from the airport either (maybe 20 mins or so) and that was handy for our very early departure.

Cons: The beds were quite hard to be honest, but okay. Softer pillows would be nice too but this was by no means a deal breaker. Other than that we were very happy with with our stay here.

Pros: Me and my two other friends had an amazing time at Mary’s property, she was very kind and courteous. We could easily communicate with her throughout the trip. She provided clear instructions how to find the property. She assisted us with early check in also. The property is on the side of the mountain provides amazing view of the city, spacious rooms, nice clean renovated bathrooms.

Pros: The apartment was well equipped and clean. The washing machine was super handy after our hikes. The hostess was great: she quickly helped us when the key got stuck in the door, letting us enjoy our day while she sorted it out. In short, a great hostess and a very good apartment for the price.

Pros: Ignore negative reviews here, this house is perfect for a visit to Madeira. Great location, a few kilometres from the centre of Funchal, 16 kilometres from the airport. 33 bus goes from a few metres away to the centre, €1.95 fare, payable on the bus. We usually got Bolt taxis home in the evening, quick and reasonable cost. Mary is an excellent hostess, great communication both before and during our visit. The house is spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, great shower and a well-equipped kitchen. Lovely upstairs terrace, for a sunny outdoor breakfast, or a sundowner in the evening. We compared prices with hotels, and Slice of Paradise is extremely good value. It was a pleasure to return here in the evenings after spending the days exploring Funchal and enjoying the wonderful food and wine. Obrigada Mary, hope to see you again!
