Villa Magnólia

Lovely stay and very good value for money.

Pros: Fab sized villa and pool. Great location and sea view. Well equipped. Excellent host.

Cons: Loved the Villa. Only thing we would change, would be the bed frames and mattresses in the rooms (apart from the main bedroom suite). Beds were old, creaky and some mattresses uncomfortable. Otherwise, everything was great!

Overall we all enjoyed our stay at Villa Magnolia with its stunning view of Funchal

Pros: Ricardo was incredibly helpful and couldn’t have been more attentive to our needs. He made sure our arrival and departure were as easy as possible, he gave great restaurant recommendations and we knew he would have been quick to respond to any problems we may have had. Villa Magnolia is very clean and spacious with a bedroom each for four friends staying together, well equipped kitchen, comfortable seating, fantastic view, well maintained pool with the view, balcony upstairs with view, large barbecue area outside, garage off the road to park our hire car. It is well located for driving out of Funchal but also easy in and out of Funchal on foot or by very reasonably priced taxi and also by bus. We were within walking distance of a large supermarket with wonderful fresh fish and meat counters. The villa has acres of storage space for clothes, etc. upstairs.

Cons: Access in and out of the sloping garage off the street on a slight bend was challenging. We drew lots for the bedrooms as staying in the master bedroom with its en-suite was far superior to the accommodation in the other four bedrooms. Most of the time three of us shared one shower room and loo upstairs. There is a further shower room and a separate cloakroom but these are downstairs so not so convenient for night time visits. The fifth bedroom is downstairs but is very small and a bit dark with no surfaces to put anything. Two of the four bedrooms upstairs have no mirrors, which would have been useful especially when sharing one bathroom upstairs where there is a mirror. I imagine the layout of the villa upstairs would be better suited to a couple with children rather than for four friends. To us it seemed that there could have been a better use of all the space the villa has to suit different groups of guests. There’s a cockerel “cock a doodle doing” loudly next door every day and not just at dawn, which was surprising for an urban residential neighbourhood. However I’m not sure our villa owner can do much about that!

A good place for the family to bond, play games and cook and eat together.

Pros: Nice cozy place for a family of 7 adults. The beds are comfortable and the beddings are warm. Located near a supermarket and other nice restaurants.

Cons: Although there are 4 toilets, only 2 have bathing facilities. Also the place has no heater or aircon so it was a little chilly at night in the winter.

Pros: Everything was amazing, very spacious and the location was great. We had an amazing time.

Stunning villa

Pros: Absolutely stunning. The view, the pool, the rooms. And I can't thank enough the host Ricardo for the recomandations and everything. Close to the city, 8 minutes uber (around 5 euros - 9 for 8 people. Near the Continente supermarket. Pool was clean and beautiful. 2 cars garage inside.

Pros: Beautiful spacious house with very nice and helpful host. Kids were very happy to spend time at the pool

Cons: No air condition, that was quite significant in August on Madeira. During our stay it was extreme heat and rooms on the sunny side of the house here very hot.

Pros: Great place to stay with kids! The villa is huge for a family with 3 kids. Good position, 10 minutes by car to Funchal city center and 5 minutes walk from Continente supermarket. The host is very friendly and suggested us places to visit on Madeira. Fantastic views of Funchal and mounts nearby.

Beautiful, well equipped house perfect for large families

Pros: The house had plenty of room for our family and was very well equipped. We cooked many meals as a family and enjoyed time together watching movies in the spacious living room. The host offered us many suggestions on where to eat that were all perfect!

Cons: nothing!

Una estancia perfecta con anfitrión de diez

Pros: La casa estaba genial, muy bien equipada y con una piscina alucinante que hizo nuestra estancia aún mejor. Ricardo fue un anfitrión excelente, siempre atento y dispuesto a ayudarnos en todo lo que necesitásemos. Sin duda, un alojamiento muy recomendable al que nos encantaría volver.

Siamo stati benissimo. Casa con bellissima vista, ben attrezzata, pulita e piena di cose belle.

Pros: La vista era stupenda, la casa ben organizzata è servita. Piscina stupenda.
