Casa da Edite

Pros: We spent a family Christmas at Casa da Edite and it was amazing, even decorated for Christmas 😍 We were comfy and cosy, it was warm (modern AC) and there was always hot water which can be a challenge when there's 7 of you! We also appreciated that there were 3 bathrooms! The location is peaceful and quiet but you're not far from Ribeira Brava and Ponta de Sol. We used it as a base to explore the whole island. Thank you!

Cons: You definitely need a car!

Perfect holiday home? Possibly!

Pros: This is such a beautiful property! Nélia and her father were wonderful hosts - so friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to visit and where to eat. Incredibly generous welcome gifts of local cake, homegrown bananas and their own hens' eggs were gratefully received. The house is roomy, we were 2 families totalling 8 with ages ranging from 9 - 55 and we never felt cramped or 'on top of each other'. The children loved the pool and picking fresh herbs from the garden. The outdoor grill was utilised most days. We loved that household essentials such as cooking oil, condiments, dishwasher tablets and coffee were provided so there isn't the need to immediately rush off to the shop to buy them. Same also goes for toiletries in the bathrooms. We are definitely going to return!

Pros: Fantastic place for two family. Great kitchen with big table for meals. Two daily rooms. A lot of space for 8 people. Swiming pool not only for kids.

Pros: Swimming pool is great, perfect for kids. Lot of bedrooms and 3 bathrooms ! House is in a quiet area, with a beautiful view ! The house is also well equipped. We really enjoyed ! Thank you !

Very large, comfortable house - great accommodation for a group.

Pros: We had a great 2-week stay at Casa da Edite. We were two couples travelling together. The house is very large so no problem to spread out. We had fires in the fireplace on damp, chilly evenings and used the outdoor cooking fire as well. Pool was cool but we swam in it several times. The hosts (Nelia and her father) were very accommodating. There were a couple of small grocery stores and restaurants nearby. Overall a great experience at the house. 10/10.

Cons: This has nothing to do with the house per se but for those who don't know Madeira, the house is at nearly 600m elevation (great for views!) so roads down to either Ponta do Sol or Madalena do Mar (i.e., in either direction) are very steep, twisty and on the edge of some cliffs. If you have any sense of vertigo it can be challenging(!) and you may wish to consider something at lower elevations.

Perfect house for relaxing holidays

Pros: Quiet location, good view, secured parking provided. Very kind hosts who provided us with welcome package of fruits and eggs. House is equipped with everything needed for a week stay. Everything was clean inside and outside. Host was available all the time for all questions on WhatsApp. We're simply returning back once!

Pros: The house is amazing. Really comfortable, clean, great location for hikes and other attractions. The host was very kind to us, always ready to help us if we needed anything. It is a perfect accomodation for a group of friends or a family with kids. Worth every penny of your money!

Cons: The rooms got a bit damp at night, but I think it was because of the weather.

Znakomita baza dla wędrowców i wszystkich tych, co kochają Maderę za naturę

Pros: Bardzo mili gospodarze Nelia i Jej ojciec Manuel. Bardzo dobry kontakt z Nelią - telefoniczny, WhatsApp. Czyste, ciepłe i bardzo przestronne mieszkanie. Wygodne materace w sypialniach. Pościel bez zastrzeżeń. Ręczników pod dostatkiem. Kuchnia pełna udogodnień i znakomicie wyposażona, zdolna pomieścić przy stole nawet 9 osób (podróżowaliśmy grupą 9 osób). Manuel umilał nam pobyt oferując jajka i owoce z własnego ogrodu. Przy domu jest całkiem spory basen (głębokość 1,2 m) i leżaki. Miejsce do parkowana za bramą na terenie posesji (pomieści spokojnie 2, a nawet 3 samochody). Chętnie tam będę wracał, jeśli kolejny raz pojadę na Maderę. Polecam!

Cons: Nie ma takich rzeczy :) Mogę tylko dodać, że dom jest położony dość wysoko nad poziomem morza. Dojazd z nabrzeża zabiera nieco czasu. Za to mamy spod domu piękne widoki na wiejską okolicę. Trzeba z tego powodu pamiętać, że temperatura tutaj będzie nieco niższa niż w miejscowościach nad morzem. Dom stoi na zakręcie mocno pochylonej drogi, więc dla początkujących kierowców wyjazd z bramy może być stresujący.

Tout était parfait

Pros: Les équipements étaient vraiment complets avec une attention particulière sur tout ce qui est nécessaire pour la cuisine. Système de chauffage efficace très appréciable au mois de janvier avec en prime une cheminée qui a égayé nos soirées. La maison est vraiment vaste et nous avons particulièrement apprécié les espaces communs comme le grand salon et la cuisine.

Pros: Wie immer war alles bestens, und ich kann dieses große Haus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.
