Sunny Arco Retreat

Pros: We stayed in these apartments and were absolutely delighted! Everything was top notch - from cleanliness to the smallest details in the interior. Spacious, bright and cozy rooms, a very comfortable bed, fresh linen, quality furniture. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay: the kitchen is fully equipped, good equipment, fast Wi-Fi. I would like to separately note the silence and the gorgeous view of the banana grove and the ocean. Check-in was quick and hassle-free, the owner was very friendly and always in touch. Thank you for your hospitality! We will definitely come back again and will recommend to friends!

Pros: We loved to stay in this apartment. You have everything what do you need. Apartment is very big and with a beautiful view.

Cons: Please if it's possible to change the Bed..... it's old and uncomfortable 😣. We would like to recommend this apartment, but only if.....will be another Bed 😭

All in all, we had a great stay, and awesome vacation!

Pros: The residence is spacious, clean and airy, it has all the amenities you would need (washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, toaster etc.). It is well-equipped in terms of appliances, dishes, cutlery and all that stuff. It has a big terrace overlooking a banana plantation, the ocean, some of the nearby hillside. It is centrally positioned on the island which makes it a great base to explore any part of Madeira. We were never more than a 20-30 minute drive away from pretty much anywhere. It has on-site, gated parking, so no worries about the rental car getting damaged. Marcos, the host was great, super friendly and involved. He shared a lot of information, checked in to see we're ok, speaks fluent English and is very reliable. One of the best hosts we've had. The wifi works well, and there's a range extender that helps cover the entire house. Overall, super quiet and peaceful, great place to relax.

Cons: Mostly minor things, nothing that broke the experience in any major way: - the ramp into the parking area is steep on both ends (looks like this ^). cars that are both long and low (like our Ford Focus ST was) will likely scratch the bottom unless you drive in at an angle. - there are some noisy dogs and roosters nearby that sometimes will start barking/croaking at 3am. Only really noticed it a couple of nights. - the bed in the main bedroom was much too soft for our taste, and very squeaky. any small shift in position will make sound. - saw a couple of cockroaches in the bathroom, probably coming up the pipes. we had Raid spray on hand to deal with them, so not a big issue. - water pressure was pretty low and sometimes took some time to heat up, but it was decent overall. no idea how it is on the rest of the island. - probably the biggest downside we was that we expected that the apartment had its own pool, not that it was shared with the apartment complex. A careful read of the description would have prevented this mistake on our part. I do recommend that the description be updated to clearly state this or make it more obvious. On our initial read we were left with the impression that it's a private pool.

Sunset views , stylish and cosy accommodation.

Pros: Beautiful apartment. It was very roomy and views to die for. Very well equipped and stylish. The pool was lovely, but not heated, so more for a brisk refreshing swim. It’s very quiet in the location too so you can enjoy a peaceful stay. Close to Calheta with good restaurants and a nice marina. Marcos was an amazing host and shared so much information with us including all his favourite restaurants. He was also available to help us out and answer questions we had, and give us some good tips. The photos don’t do it justice!

Cons: It could do with a microwave, but everything else was perfect!

Pros: De locatie met uitzicht vanaf het terras op de oceaan is echt fantastisch, zeker met de zonsondergang. Daarnaast ontbreekt het in dit appartement echt nergens aan: een grote en volledig ingerichte keuken, een gezellige woonkamer en een fijne slaapkamer met goed bed. Verder is alles waar je maar aan kunt denken aanwezig: van spelletjes, boeken en kaarsjes, tot dekentjes en onderzetters. Dit maakt het heel huiselijk. Ook konden we al sochtends in het appartement, omdat het de nacht ervoor niet verhuurt was. Dit was erg prettig, aangezien we zo bij konden komen van onze reis.

Cons: De koelkast en de vaatwasser waren kapot. Beetje onhandig, maar kan gebeuren.

Pros: Bauweise der Anlage. Auf Augenhöhe mit den Bananen, wenn nur nicht die Mücken wären. Gut ausgestattete Ferienwohnung von privat.

Cons: Weitere Fliegengitter wären super. Nach meiner persönlichen Einschätzung ist die Matratze, zumindest für mich als Rücken- Patient, zu weich. Während unseres Aufenthaltes hat die Spülmaschine nicht funktioniert.

Heerlijk verblijf in een prachtige omgeving met zwembad en een geweldige verzorging van de host.

Pros: De lokatie is fantastisch om helemaal tot rust te komen tussen de bananenplantages. Het appartement is van alle gemakken voorzien en biedt alles wat je nodig hebt om je vakantie relexed door te brengen. Maar het belangrijkste is het contact met de host. Marcos staat altijd direct voor je klaar en niets is hem te veel. Samen met zijn ouders komt hij wekelijks langs voor een schoonmaakbeurt. Er onstaat dan direct een bijzonder prettig, volijk en lakonieke sfeer waarbij je vooral de hartelijkheid van de Madeirenzen ervaart en beleeft. Wanneer zij vertekken ziet het appartement er weer brandschoon uit.

Cons: Door de heerlijke stilte die Arco da Calheta biedt, valt het regelmatig blaffen van de honden wel heel erg op.

Fantastisch zonnig verblijf bij Sunny Arco, hier komen we graag terug!

Pros: Ons verblijf bij Sunny Arco is ons echt geweldig goed bevallen! Het appartement is echt heel ruim, ruimer nog dan wij dachten op basis van de foto's. Het was er heel schoon en het verblijf had alle benodigdheden die we wilden. De locatie was top, we hadden geluk met het weer en dus veel zon in Sunny Arco! We hebben daardoor kunnen genieten van het zwembad, maar we zaten ook dichtbij enkele populaire wandellocaties zoals de PR6 en PR9. De host hebben we niet fysiek ontmoet, maar wel online contact mee gehad. Deze reageerde snel en was heel vriendelijk. We hebben ook genoten van het zwembad en strand dichtbij. Wij zouden hier absoluut terugkomen!

Cons: We scheiden graag afval (zoals ook de bedoeling is op Madeira). Het zou handig zijn als er in het appartement hiervoor ook verschillende bakken beschikbaar zijn i.p.v. één prullenbak zoals nu het geval was. We hebben het afval zelf gescheiden in verschillende zakken. Bakken maken het gemakkelijker weg te brengen. Maar dit was voor ons absoluut geen groot ding, ik moet echt mijn best doen om iets te bedenken wat beter zou kunnen :-).

Pros: Sehr geräumiges Appartement mit wunderschöner Aussicht aufs Meer. Unkompliziertes Parken und Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber.
