A Wonderful Getaway

Pros: Casa do Norte is a fantastic find! Even late in the season, we enjoyed great hikes and took in the beautiful surroundings of Santa Maria. The mix of hiking trails, ocean views and days at the beach made for a refreshing experience. The cozy interiors added to the charm of our stay. Thanks for providing such a welcoming place—we had a great time and look forward to returning!

Wonderful Oasis!

Pros: This lovely house is a peaceful oasis that surpassed our expectations. Isolated on a hill overlooking the sea, we spent our days reading and strolling. There are lovely beaches on the island of Santa Maria, but we were too smitten with this rental to leave the property. Our stay at this location could not have come at a better time following two weeks of high-volume travel. This home was just what the doctor ordered for rest and relaxation. The communication with the owner was outstanding. She could not have been more generous or accommodating.

Cons: There is nothing I did not like about this home.

Maison charmante, propice à la détente

Pros: Nous avons aimé l'emplacement, la quiétude des lieux, le joli jardin, le coucher du soleil vu de la terrasse, la décoration de la maison et l'extrême amabilité de notre 'hôte, Laurinda, qui a été aux petits soins avec nous tout au long du séjour.

Cons: Malgré les mesurés adoptées par notre hôte (filets aux fenêtres, insecticide), des insectes arrivent malgré tout à pénétrer dans la salle de bain.. On est en pleine campagne, dans un climat chaud et humide, du coup, c'est probablement un peu inévitable.

Pros: Casa do Norte is a cozy traditional house surrounded by a beautiful garden with views of the sea and surrounding countryside. This was our second stay at the house, and it was just as pleasant and relaxing as the first. Laurinda is a wonderful host – friendly, responsive, and a great ambassador for this beautiful island.
