Calheta Countryside

Pros: Convenient studios side by side for our family of five, complete with fridge and basic cooking facilities. Lovely sunset views from the large veranda and a cheerful cafe/bar across the road offering a warm welcome and simple range of food (burgers, toasted sandwiches, waffles) and drinks.

Cons: No washing machine although this was as expected.

Pros: A great starting point for our multi-day hike. Included everything what you could imagine from a well-maintained apartment. Local restaurant just across the street.

Cons: As the name suggests, it is pretty remote from cities, beach and tourist spots. That was not a problem for us though.

I would easily live here :D

Enjoyed the stay!

Pros: Very nice independent studio, with nice view and little balcony. The kitchen is equipped enough to cook for one or two people and offers already some basic goods (oil, salt, etc.). The bed was good and we enjoyed having a smart tv. Overall nice and comfortable!

Cons: There’s a lot of humidity in the room, which becomes visible in the morning on the windows especially. But I wouldn’t say it bothered us, in the evening we barely noticed it. For one night it was not a problem at all.

10/10 would stay again!

Pros: Amazing location and views. Clean and well equipped. Nice sunny terrace & company of very friendly cats. Very comfortable and pleasant stay. Good wifi. Easy self check-in.

Perfect little Appartement with excellent seaview

Pros: Perfectly fine! By far one of the best appartements I had been in Madeira. Everything new an clean. From my little balcony I had a perfect view for the sunset over the ocean. Stephanie helped my very fast via Whattsapp. Highly recommented!

Great spot! Wish we had stayed here longer!

Pros: Very clean and organized place. Accessing the property via lockbox key was easy and we were sent the code in advance of our stay as well as good photos and directions for parking the car from the hosts. The beds were very comfortable and linens very clean. The kitchenette was well stocked (microwave, hotplate, dishware, cutlery, pans, soap, and cloths) with everything we needed to make ourselves breakfast and lunch each day. The balcony had a great view of the ocean and countryside for the sunset. Even though the location is close to the main road it is very quiet at night. The surrounding village and locals were very nice and a great location to walk around and see small farms/viewpoints. Parking the car on the road next to the gate was easy and not a busy or tight spot.

Cons: We did notice a small issue with condensation after showering. Even with the fan on and bathroom window open the steam would buildup and we would find the main room (since it is all so close together) would feel a bit damp at night. Did not affect our sleeping or stay though - just something to be aware of. Also the shower did not have any shampoo or body wash provided, so make sure to bring your own.

Good place to stay if you travel around

Pros: Very good and strong shower, nice room, small kitchen, comfortable bed, very lovely owners! The best restaurant across the street :)

Very nice quiet accomodation, great value for the money

Pros: The appartement was very nice, there was everything we needed. It’s located in the countryside, it had a nice terrace and a nice view. The bar across the street has amazing waffles and coffee, I recommend to have a snack or breakfast there.

Cons: The bathroom doors didn’t close completely.
