Casa do Calhau - 1 bedroom apartment sleeps 4

Pros: The host was super communicative. The location was perfect, right in the middle of everything! If we ever go back to madeira, these hosts are my first call.

Pros: the location is fantastic. its perfect to see the bay in front of you and hear the waves. the parking was a bit tough at the beginning..(its a slope directly to the parking). there are restaurants bars and a great supermarket so you don't have to go anywhere else to eat in the evening. its a good place as a base for day trips if you rent a car.the apartment is well equipped and brand new. comfi beds. its heaven!

Der kleine Hafenort mit den vielen keinen Restaurants und die Bars, sehr stimmungsvoll.

Pros: Der Blick auf den Hafen war sehr schön auch die ruhige Lageperfekt. Die Unterkunft war sehr gepflegt und die Matratzen ein Traum.

Cons: Es waren keine Tassen vorhanden, nur Teegläser und keine kleinen Teller. Der Wasserhahn im Badezimmer war sehr lose und die Klappe vom Gefrierfach abgebrochen. Die Duschkabine war sehr verkalkt.

Gute Wahl

Pros: Insgesamt ruhige und doch zentrale Lage. Schöner Ausblick. Ein kleiner Balkon im OG, eine kleine Terrasse im EG. Reservierter Parkplatz, zumindest für einen Kleinwagen tauglich.

Cons: An der steilen, engen Straße wurde von den Anliegern verkehrsbedingt gehupt.

Pros: Pobyt był bardzo udany. MIeszkanie ładne i pięknie ulokowane z widokiem na zatokę.

Cons: Kanapa rozkładana nie była zbyt wygodna, Spanie na niej przez kilka dni było udręką. Zawilgocony blat w okolicy zlewu w kuchni brzydko pachniał. Kabina prysznicowa wymaga odświeżenia bo są ślady grzyba.

Madeira apartment with great balcony view

Pros: Apartament design, location, comfortable bed, balcony view, AC.

Cons: Ants, dusty floors, lack of some essential kitchen equipment (or old equipment).

Agréable séjour à Casa de Calhau dans cette ville bien située pour visister Madère.

Pros: L’appartement est moderne,propre et très fonctionnel. Les deux petites terrasses sont appréciables. Celle de la chambre offre une vue agréable sur le port. La place de parking est aussi pratique.

Great

Pros: Nicely renovated house in the village is in a perfect location with great views, private parking, sufficiently equipped kitchen and foot access to very good restaurants, cafes, grocery shops. Like someone else mentioned in another review, it is a great basecamp for day trips around the island by car. Staff is responsive and replenished household items at request.

Cons: The bed is a bit too stiff for our taste. Not a negative for our stay, but just a comment about questionable level of comfort if 4 people stay there - there is just one bed upstairs and one sofa which probably converts to bed. Again, not a negative to this property, but on Madeira around Christmas time folks tend to celebrate and shoot fireworks throughout every night. Camara de Lobos village is leaning quite a lot into this tradition. We couldn't sleep for several nights until we adapted somewhat.
