Terrace Apartment

Fantastic apartment close to waterfront, parking, restaurants and shops

Pros: Excellent location 2 minutes walk from the waterfront with lovely views of the cruise ships from the large terrace.. Close to shopping mall and right next to an indoor parking site.. Fresh flowers, wine ,nibbles and fruit were very nice thank you 😀... Primary bedroom bed mattresses were quite firm although second bedroom has a memory foam mattress which l preferred Only suggestion would be a larger TV screen due to size of room ..good film channels and WiFi ( lone traveller so watched in the evening!) Useful island guides and reading books provided also Would definitely return here again x

We loved the flat and made our own meals to eat out on the balcony some nights.

Pros: We were right in the centre of Funchal in walking distance of the front and cathedral. The flat was fairly big and had a lovely big balcony area.

Cons: There were 2sets of steep stairs to take luggage up.

Pros: Excellent terrace, comfy beds, very clean and all amenities one needs were provided

Pros: The apartment is roomy , clean and modern in an excellent location.

Cons: There is extensive building work going on in a building opposite the balcony with constant building noise ( shouting, hammer and kango noise, banging, dropping things ) going on between 0800 and 1900. Meant you didn't want to sit outside or have any of the windows open because of the noise. Don't know when this building work will finish.

Nice apartment in the heart of Funchal.

Pros: Location was excellent with easy reach to everything. Good communication with host with clear instructions of how to get in. Nice big terrace. Comfy beds. Everything functioned.

Cons: We were rather disappointed to find the beds were actually in the living/dining room rather than in a separate bedroom as we expected. Also we were very unlucky as there was non-stop noisy building work opposite the apartment. The shower tray did not drain very well.

Pros: Very nice apartment,centrally located, near a big shopping center, spacious, clean, nice decorated,well equipped with a generous terrace. Easy self check in.

Pros: Excellent location in Funchal. Minutes away from shops, sites and transport links. Very clean and had everything we needed (towels, beach towels etc). Fans in both rooms. Very responsive host.

An enjoyable and relaxing holiday in a clean and comfortable apartment

Pros: We liked the roof terrace and the location of the apartment. It is very close to a shopping centre with a large supermarket. It is in an area with many nearby restaurants and is in easy walking of all the main sites in Funchal. The apartment has plenty of space for 2 people. Communication with the owner was good.

Cons: You have to be fit enough to walk up 3 flights of stairs, as there is no lift. This wasn’t a problem for us but could be for some people.

Pros: Best location, top apartment! Clear and nice, i loved it.

Cons: The walls are very thin, sometimes it was very noisy, but rather because of the unpolite tourists in the neighborhood.

Pros: Great location & terrace! We had breakfast on the terrace every morning and sat outside every night. The apartment has 2 rooms. One smaller bedroom and a bigger room serving as the bedroom for the other 2 beds and the living room. We were there in early September. The seat cushions were new as some of the older comments have mentioned this as a minus :) the apartment was very clean and they even provided one tab of washing gel for the washing machine. The kitchen is small but functional and they provided salt/pepper/oil/washing liquid. We rented a car and parked in a garage close by for 4.5€/day (5 minute walk). There is also a parking garage right next door. This one however is closed at night and on Saturdays after 4pm and on Sundays and there is no way to get inside or out. There are a few stairs to climb to get to the apartment. For us this was no issue at all (would be the same for any other apartment located on a higher floor).

Cons: Nothing major, the pillows were not for me but this is a very minor issue. Since the apartment is on the top level I can imagine that it can get very hot/humid in the summer months but they had some movable fans which could be used.
