Ana's Place

Pros: Friendly host, clean, great location and comfortable.

Perfect for us.

Pros: The accommodation was spacious and felt comfortable. Ana met us at the door and let us in, handed us the key. The property has it's own private terrace where you can sit and relax in the sun. The location was quiet and the bus stop for the main bus route into town was right on the street below. Only 2 euros.

Cons: There wasn't really anything I would improve. It was ideal for us.

Really enjoyed the apartment and it’s views but it is well out of town

Pros: The views. The proximity to the bus stops. The cleanliness. Was generally a quiet location. We stayed during Mardi Gras so was probably livelier than normal.

Cons: One bed had a pronounced dip and was uncomfortable. The hot water works on a Solar system we had variable maximum temperature each day. We don’t think this system is suitable for a letting scenario, as we were unhappy with the water temperature on most days despite assurances that the thermostat was set to max. This was our biggest gripe as we like a hot shower!. The location is great for views but no so good if you want to shop on foot. The nearest shops are maybe 600m away but there are occasional pavements and it’s a very steep climb back up. Given the above we would have happily traded the Welcome tray of maderia wine and cake for some basic items such as milk juice and coffee pods and bread. Also dishwasher tablets not provided.

Homey and peaceful sea-side stay with lovely views.

Pros: Anna was very friendly and hospitable; greeting us with Madeira wine and cake after a long trip. Fully equipped kitchen made cooking easy and pleasurable. Wonderful sunset and day-time views of Funchal and the ocean. Two spacious bedrooms.

Cons: Bathroom was very humid which made it difficult to dry. Would have liked a couple of dishwasher capsules, etc since this was a short trip and we didn't see the point in buying a whole box. Second bedroom did not have windows.

Un appartement agréable et calme avec une très belle vue sur la baie

Pros: La localisation, facile d'accès en voiture et calme. La très belle vue sur la baie de Funchal. La cuisine bien équipée.

Cons: Malgré la grande propreté de l'appartement, la présence de fourmis, cafards et scolopendres observés principalement dans la cuisine et la salle d'eau. Les frais de ménage (100€) devraient être inclus dans le prix de la location.

Pros: La vista desde el balcón es maravillosa y el departamento en general, muy cómodo, teníamos todo lo que necesitábamos.

Pros: Het uitzicht was prachtig, de keuken was van alle gemakken voorzien en een perfecte uitvalbasis voor Madeira

Quiet, comfortable, and clean stay with a view!

Pros: Ana was an amazing host, very responsive and attentive. She met us at the property (she lives upstairs) and gave us a tour of where we were staying, which was very clean and comfortable. We only stayed for 2 nights, so we didn’t need to use the kitchen, but during that time, it was great. Very quiet neighborhood, so we slept great. The views of Funchal from the patio were great too. We had a rental car and were able to park out front. Walking to downtown Funchal is a bit of a hike, so if you don’t have a car, perhaps a location closer to downtown would be better (if you want to spend a lot of time there).
