Don’t hesitate, worth booking!!
Pros: Location & views were incredible! Fantastic restaurants all within a short walk. Easy walk downhill into Funchal. Apartment is very stylish & homely & beds super comfortable. Daniel the host was very available for any queries & cleaners were incredibly thorough. Madeira is a beautiful country with amazing landscape & very friendly people. Highly recommend. We stayed at the apartment over New Year & had amazing views of the fireworks from the balcony.
Cons: Front door lock was a little tricky but once you got the knack ok. Only bath with shower over in second bedroom but to be truthful to have a bath also lovely.

Probably the nicest self-catering flat we have ever stayed in.
Pros: Superb flat with breathtaking views. Main bedroom and kitchen facilities were of the highest order, and the lounge and balcony dining area are wonderful. Our host, Daniel, rapidly sorted out a minor problem with the very complicated (SMEG) oven after a quick phone call. Housekeeping (free) takes place by arrangement, at a time to suit the guests. The large welcome bowl of fruit was also appreciated. Maggie at the gatehouse was a mine of information, and looked after us and cheerfully gave us coffee during the short delay before the cleaners were finished and keys handed over. We largely ate out, but there is an excellent pasties shop (Petitfours) in the line of shops diagonally south across the main road where you can buy croissants etc. for breakfast There are also two small supermarkets selling essentials.
Cons: One of the other reviewers has commented on the second bedroom bathroom which looks good but is difficult to use. Our third member was an elderly lady who found the bath unusable - no handrails and nowhere to put toiletries. Would be better to replace with a shower similar to the one in the main bedroom (which she also used). I note the owner has responded positively to this criticism from the previous reviewer. Note that the second bedroom window looks out on to a corridor and stairwell, not the grounds, so is only suitable for ventilation and limited light.

Pros: The apartment was absolutely stunning, especially the spectacular balcony and views. My mum said this was the nicest place she had ever stayed. Daniel was also super responsive and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. We loved it

Great location and great apartment- the views are to die for and resulted in us staying in and ordering food to eat out
Pros: amazing views and beautiful apartment. Staff were extremely helpful with any needs.
Cons: Pool was closed due to leak. We were given access to a resort located nearby in lieu of using our own pool. We didn't take advantage of the other resort.

Exceptional stay - above and beyond all expectation.
Pros: Beautifully curated and exceptionally kept accommodation that offers views capturing all of the beauty that Madeira has to offer. Well placed for restaurants and well equipped for those like myself who also enjoy cooking and dining on a veranda with incredible views. Communication with host was easy and accessible throughout the booking process and stay.

Beautiful apartment!
Pros: The location, porch and views were amazing. The staff was very accommodating. The apartment was well appointed and comfortable.
Cons: For 2 couples staying, we were disappointed in the second bathroom which is greatly subpar to the wonderful master bath. The shower curtain was stained, no overhead shower fixture and no place to put shower supplies while in the shower. For the cost, the owner needs to update the second bathroom.
