High quality apartment, quiet and clean

Pros: A spacious apartment with a very good kitchen and bathroom. The owners welcomed us and made us feel at home. We enjoyed eating on the balcony, which faces east, so it gets sunshine in the morning and is not too hot in the evening. We slept well, beds were comfy and it was very quiet inside the building and not very noisy from outside as it is set back from the nearest (small) road. A big Continente supermarket is 1 km away. The apartment is located half-way between Funchal town and Praia Formosa beach. There is a road junction about 100m north of the building that is crossed by at least 4 regular bus routes. This made getting into Funchal fast and convenient. We used two other routes to get near to the start of hiking trails. Also, one levada walk starts at 5 minutes from the apartment. Not tested, this apartment has a parking space if needed (we found the bus system sufficient for one week stay).

Cons: The football stadium blocks what would have been a beautiful view over the sea.

Felt like a home

Pros: This apartment had everything we needed! A well stocked kitchen, washing machine , large balcony to enjoy the sunshine, quiet location within walking distance to supermarkets, eateries, bus stops right out the front - couldn't have asked for more! The hosts were so lovely and answered any questions quickly and were very attentive to our needs.

Cons: The only thing I could fault is the fact that there is an office building and low level carpark obstructing a bit of the view from the balcony but the lovely garden in front gives a nice buffer from the street and if you look to another side the view of the hills is gorgeous especially at night!

Best accommodation ever!

Pros: Very nice appartment with huge balcony and very nice view over the Funchal, also nice and safe underground parking spot. Centrum of the city only 10 minutes walk downhill. Our hosts Blanca and João were incredibly friendly and helpfull, they also gave us lot of good travel tips! Thank You!

Pros: Appartement agréable, bien agencé avec une terrasse. Centre de Funchal accessible à pied en 20 minutes. Place de parking couvert, très pratique.

Pros: Eine Packung Kaffee als Begrüßungsgeschenk. Sehr freundliche Gastgeberin.

Cons: Das Bett/die Couch im Wohnzimmer ist eher für Kinder geeignet (nicht für Personen über 1.7m).

Pros: L'accueil à notre arrivée, la proximité des boulangeries, commerces et arrêts de bus pour aller au centre.

Pros: Отличные большие апартаменты с балконом, красивый сад и место для парковки. Очень чисто и есть все все необходимое для отдыха. Остановка автобуса в 2 мин ходьбы, можно доехать до центра за 8 минут или пройтись пешком около получаса. Хозяева ответственные и дружелюбные, всегда на связи, подсказали нам много хороших мест, где можно вкусно поесть недалеко от дома.

Joie

Pros: La rapidité d’interaction et bienveillance de nos hôtes. Le balcon nous a permis de prendre le petit déjeuner au soleil et le souper en extérieur à deux. Le bus 3 ou 8 au coin de la rue, parfait pour rejoindre Funchal à 1.95 euros la course. L’épicerie et la super boulangerie pâtisserie à côté.

Cons: La loi qui les oblige à ne pas laisser d’huile, vinaigre, sel, poivre… Amenez vos épices si vous avez envie de cuisiner. L’huile, vinaigre se trouve facilement en petite bouteille.
