Pros: Large and spotlessly clean. Lovely views from bedroom and terrace. Very comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen. Friendly, helpful host. Good location for many interesting walks and sights. Quiet. Parking on premises.

Cons: A little chilly in January although an effective electrical heater is provided which can be moved between rooms. Not much ventilation in bathroom so we had to dry towels in the kitchen.

Pros: Very friendly host. The balcony has a great view. The apartment has a modern feel. Recommendation for drivers: don't go the way Google maps tells you to from Ponta do Sol as it takes you up very steep and narrow roads. Navigate to Sao Tiago first and then go from there.

Cons: The indoor temperature is a little cold in winter, but blankets and a heater are provided.

An idyllic retreat with stunning ocean views and exceptionally warm hospitality.

Pros: We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The location is superb, offering stunning ocean views and a peaceful escape far from crowded tourist areas, yet most key sights, hiking trails, and beautiful beaches are easily reachable within a 20–60 minute drive. Our host was incredibly kind and helpful, even surprising us with some thoughtful small gifts.

Cons: We liked everything
