Fantastic spacious and comfortable apartment in the heart of Vila Baleira

Pros: The apartment is in a great location in the heart of Vila Baleira with a supermarket and a great patisserie/cafe within a minutes walk. It is light and spacious and the massive terrace with great sea and countryside views is a huge bonus. The apartment is decorated with a nice nautical theme and is extremely well equipped - washing machine, dishwasher, large TV, high speed internet. Both bathrooms were excellent. Communication with Martim was easy throughout and he was extremely responsive. He very kindly allowed us to check in very early and check out very late. We would definitely love to stay here again.

Cons: The sun loungers are in urgent need of repair - two completely broken and the other two starting to break. A number of lightbulbs need replacing. The double bed has a memory foam mattress which we didn’t find that comfortable. But these are all minor issues and didn’t detract from our enjoyment

Pros: We spent one week in the Penthouse apartment and enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment is spacious, beautifully decorated and well equipped. We felt like at home. We like to cook, so we could do grocery in the nearby supermarket and cook our dinner, as the kitchen has all the facilities you need. The highlight of the apartment is without any doubt the terrace. It has beautiful views and is very big. You can sunbathe there and enjoy the sound of the waves. Martim, the host was very helpful and answered any questions and requests we had. He let us stay longer on the checkout day, so we could enjoy this wonderful place longer. We loved the island very much and will definitely come back here again.

A beautiful, spacious, and tasteful place with a good view.

Pros: A beautiful, spacious, and tasteful place with a good view. The apartment is very cozy, and the kitchen is equipped with everything necessary. Next to it, there is a nice café with freshly baked bread and pastries. Nearby, there are two supermarkets, enough to eat well. The beach is just a few steps away, and from the rooftop terrace, you can see if the ferry is in the harbor. We were there in the off-season, enjoyed a great walk along the long beach to the end of the island, had delicious lunch, and came back. During our stay, the weather was bad - very strong winds, and we are endlessly grateful to the host that we could stay in the apartment until the evening (until the ferry departure time) on the day we left without any extra charge.

Cons: The dishwasher was not working, but it's not critical.

Shame should be a 10

Pros: Should be a 10 but things let it down. Staff great and very helpful let us check in early. Great location new supermarket next door, beach across road. And unlike some other reviews we found it very quiet. Apart from the items listed below, the kitchen equipment was excellent and the decor is really nice.

Cons: The dishwasher is broken and needs replacing. The oven thermostat doesn’t appear to work and it’s very dated As mentioned by others wooden patio loungers are broken, in my opinion dangerous. Such a shame, deserves a 10.

Pros: Everything! The location was perfect with easy access to the beach, restaurants and supermarket. Martim was so accommodating allowing us an early check in and late check out which made our ferry crossings so much easier. We'll definitely be booking again next year.

Pros: We absolutely loved our stay! The owner was very, very friendly and on the last day he let us do a late check-out which made our stay even better. The location is also perfect, close to the beach and many facilitiew. We will be back for sure!

Pros: Very big and bright apartment, the location is just perfect, close to the beach, restaurants, right next to the supermarket. Well equiped and nicely decorated.

Cons: Bad smell in the kitchen - there was a water under washing machine when we arrived and it was causing very bad smell in the apartment. The floors were very dirty, my socks were literally black. My bed was a bit folded and not that comfortable...

Pros: Contacts with host was smooth - he arranged for us to let our luggage during the day on the main hall. Great location with supermarket and bakery at walking distance. Access to main beach is very close as well. Flat is well arranged and well equipped with a terrace.

Cons: Mattress and shower deck would need a renewal to our liking.

Pros: The place was well located, very clean, spacious and had a great balcony. Close to the center and to everything we needed. The staff was always nice and helpful. We had an excellent stay.
