Pros: Amazing location, although if you're without a car it might be difficult as there are no grocery stores near and delivery doesn't always deliver there The guest house is cute, symbolic, very minimalistic and cozy

Cons: Inside the house it's very cold, much colder inside then outside with no provided heater and AC doesn't really work well on heat. The hot water ends very quickly as well, not enough for one person to fully enjoy the shower and wash their hair. Also, the first day when I moved in the smell from bleach used for cleaning topped with other chemical smells was atrocious and making me sick and although it was quickly fixed the next day, it really did affect my 3 day only stay and to my surprise, the owner didn't offer anything, other than \

A special stay in the mountains

Pros: This is a really special place. Nestles in the quiet mountains of Madeira in a local village. Secluded and quiet. The apartment was well fitted out with everything you need for cooking and general living. The bedroom was large and the bed comfy. Bathroom was also nice and good hot shower. Parking provided at the front. The location suited us well for local hikes on the mountains. The large supermarket was 20 minutes drive but there’s also a mini market 10 minutes away by the beach.

Cons: Nothing. This is a great place to stay.

Pros: Lots of room and complete kitchen. Nice and cozy appartement.

Cons: Village is very quiet. Not a bad thing necessarily. Power outage once but fixed really quickly

Pros: The guesthouse is a very comfortable place in a location that's a perfect base for exploring the island - relatively close to the most interesting landmarks, in a quiet valley for those who want to escape the city noise, and at the very start of the PR21 trail if you don't feel like driving at some point of your visit. For those of you who are on Madeira on a photography trip but choose not to stay in Porto Moniz for some reason, Ilheus da Ribeira da Janela are only 15-20 minutes away by car, which makes it easy to get there in time for sunrise.

Pros: Clean, modern, spacious accommodation in a quiet area close to PR17, PR21, and PR22 hiking trails. Easy check-in. Washing machine, oven, fully-equipped kitchen, TV available. The host was very kind to give us tips for the stay.

Pros: Arredata con grande gusto. Attrezzata bene. Un po' fuori dal centro ma bellissima posizione per fare passeggiate. E molto silenziosa!
