Casa Oliveira Esmeraldo - Guest Houses

Pros: Great location & beautiful setting. Easy walk down the hill into Sao Vicente

Beautiful villa

Pros: Lovely location, spacious, nice pool, lovely gardens, very clean

Cons: Could do with a few more glasses and bowls

Nice retreat

Pros: The pool is fantastic! Though it was still a bit cold, it is a nice area to hang out anyways. The kitchen was a bit dark and the living could have been more cosy, but the bedrooms were superb.

We love Madeira!!!

Pros: We enjoyed the privacy and space. The apartment was well-equipped. The carpark was sufficient for all the quests and well secured. The kitchen was handy and practical. We enjoyed the views.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: The swimming pool was nice, rooms were a good size, location is good, but I would recommend that you have a car (parking on site). It was quiet and we had a private outside space with great views.

Cons: Would have been good to have had a lamp in the living room and an extra tray for the oven when cooking dinners.

Helpful communication, lovely home and grounds.

Pros: Incredible location, plenty of room and privacy. Helpful communication. Lovely grounds.

Cons: N/A

Casa Oliveira Esmeraldo provides an excellent base for visiting north Madeira.

Pros: The surrounding mountains were very impressive. We particularly liked the garden of the property, and the changing views of the clocktower of Our Lady of Fatima. There were several restaurants within walking distance in Sao Vicente, both on the seafront and in the old village centre.

Cons: We did not receive instructions on how to access the property until the day of our travel/arrival - rather short notice. The kitchen equipment provided was relatively limited, and there were no instructions on how to use the cooker. We had been looking forward to visiting the Sao Vicente caverns, but unfortunately they were closed.

cute house in an ideal location if you want to see the whole island

Pros: Cute house with modern furnishings, very clean, well-maintained surroundings such as garden and swimming pool. In addition, it is very convenient that there is parking close to the house.

Cons: The mattress of the bed was already a bit too old and worn out. It also took a long time for hot water to come out of the shower tap, we felt sorry for the waste of water. But we were very satisfied overall!

Pros: The view from the terrace, the cozy apartment, the location were amazing. Everything we needed was there, like parking and kitchen utensils. We would definitely come back.

Cons: The only thing we had some problem with was the mattress, it was too soft and worn out

Great stay, not a touristy house or town.

Pros: The property is situated on a fabulous town, S,Vicente, and it's a great place to stay if what you are looking for is authenticity, quietness, nature and amazing views. Great base to explore the island as S.Vicente is connected to the South side of Madeira through an excellent tunnel infrastructure (very easy drive in and out of S.Vicente - unlike other locations that can pose trickier drives).
