Great surroundings and view, and very comfortable room
Pros: Super nice view from the front terrace. Very peaceful area in the middle of the rainforest. Curral das Freiras and Pico Arieiro easily accesible (by car). There’s one local good restaurant (espetadas only, very yummy!) just some meters away. Very flexible check in.
Cons: I didn’t dislike it at all, but just for others to know: these are a couple of rooms in the lower part of a big restaurant (Estrela Restaurant), which was closed when we where there (July 2025)

Ideal,if on a budget and happy to drive out of funchalx
Pros: Easy to locate. Not far from Eira do Serrado viewpoint - 10 minutes. Also not too far from Funchal. It had towels, fridge, kettle and tv with netflix. We were really happy with property. It was like staying in a rainforest. Host also provided us with fresh towels upon request. Place was clean and ideal for two.

The house in the clouds
Pros: Estalagem Estrela is literally the house in the clouds! It's one of the most beautiful locations in Funchal and it has everything you need for a short stay. Estrela is only 20 minutes away from the city centre, so we used public busses throughout our journey. They are quick, cheap and reliable. You can also use Bolt, especially if you want to get to Pico Arieiro in the morning. There's also a parking spot for you if you have a car. The room is large and warm. So are the bathroom and the bed. The fridge, electric kettle, heater, and Netflix TV are all amazing additions to this already great room. If you manage to find a slot when the accommodation is available, just book it, don't hesitate for a second. You won't regret it! The host is very kind and will definitely help you.
Cons: Keep an eye out for mosquitos and other insects.

Pros: Good place to stay if you want to visit Curral das Freiras, with a nice view of Funchal from the mountain. Ideal for one night stay.
Cons: Since the place is a bit further from the city and the restaurant was closed, it would be really good to have a small kitchen for the guests where they could prepare some food.

Schönster Ausblick auf Funchal
Pros: Schönes Zimmer gutes Bett mit smart TV und Internet. Super schöner Ausblick. Bushaltestelle direkt vor der Türe. Mitten in der Natur. Preis im Verhältnis zum Rest der Insel wirklich fair.
Cons: Zu Fuß schwer zu erreichen. Auto Roller Bus von Vorteil. Leider Restaurant im Haus geschlossen

Pros: Дуже приємний володар мешкання, дуже красиві види, чистий номер
Cons: Опалення, як для такої великої кімнати в зимку не достатньо мощне опалення, було прохладно Це скоріш не те щоб не сподобалось, хочу попередити, там дуже важкий підʼїзд, вже потім ви дізнаєтесь, що там майже усюди такі дороги, але коли ви будете їхати перший раз з аєропорта до цих апартаментів, будьте готові до дуже вузьких і крутих підйомів

Paz y tranquilidad a solo 20 minutos de Funchal.
Pros: El alojamiento está a 20 minutos de Funchal. Nosotros nos movimos en coche, lo cual facilitó mucho todo, pero es imprescindible tener un medio de transporte allí porque los buses no cubren todas las zonas. El alojamiento está retirado de bares y tiendas, pero justo bajando la calle hay un restaurante donde asan unas carnes deliciosas. Para desayunar siempre bajábamos a la zona más comercial.
