Exceptional villa and hosts

Pros: Fabulous place, spotlessly clean and the beautifully heated pool in November was wonderful. We would recommend and hopefully return without hesitation. The hosts are very friendly, kind and generous giving us fresh oranges and fruit from their orchard, goodies in the fridge left for us too.

Had a fantastic stay, it's a delightful property, everything you need has been carefully provided!

Pros: The lovely hosts Maria and Arnaldo met us at the property and showed us around, including the fab garden where peppers, chillies and bananas were growing - help yourselves. The villa is really quite perfect, amazing patio with pool, views, great sized bedrooms with beautiful en suite bathrooms. Kitchen/living room was a great size, so thoughtfully equipped with everything you can need. Very stylish and top end quality materials throughout. Also a great location for visiting many parts of the island, Funchal only 20 mins drive, many lavadas again only 30mins and main North/South road only 10 minutes away. We wouldn't hesitate in going back and thoroughly recommend the Madeira Protea Retreat. Thanks very much

Amazing property, great hosts!

Pros: We loved the placement, so quiet and peaceful, with the river just nearby. The place is spotless, the view is amazing and it comes with a heated pool. I’d return here without hesitation.

Pros: Eine rundum wunderbare Unterkunft – man fühlt ab dem ersten Moment wie zu Hause. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Alles ist top gepflegt und äußerst gemütlich. Besonders sind die unglaublich herzlichen Gastgeber:innen: super hilfsbereit, engagiert und mit vielen wertvollen Tipps für Ausflüge und Erkundungen. Als liebevolle Aufmerksamkeit gab es frische Früchte aus dem eigenen Garten. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder zu euch – und nach Madeira! 🌴😊
