We loved Madeira

Pros: Comfortable, very spacious and beatiful house. Lots of air, well equipped. Very friendly and helpful owner, though we never met and communicated via whatsapp. Good location in a quiet village, few steps from the ocean and right at the foot of moutains. Easy driving from the airport, just remember to rent a strong enough car with automatic gearbox. Stunning views all around. Almost no moskitoes. Swimming is possible 500 m away, there is a pier with stairs into the ocean. Just beware of slippery steps! Water is crystal clear and ca. 20°C warm (second decade of June). Few restaurants nearby with good food and drinks, and a small shop with fruits/wine/bread etc. Great surprise - 4G mobile network an GPS works all around the island no matter how deep or high you are.

Cons: Driving in Madeira is not for faint-hearted. The heights can easily go few hundred meters in one km of road. The roads themselves are perfect, but be ready to go 20% incline up and down on a regular basis. On the other hand, views are breathtaking, roads are excellent, the sytem of highway tunnels is a true marvel!!! We absolutely loved Madeira

Lovely big comfortable house, with great views, - great place to stay for a trip to Madeira

Pros: The host was a good communicator on What's App and supplied easy information on check-in and parking. The house was big and clean, there were only five of us but it could have accommodated up to eight people easily. They were five bathrooms, one with a big tub ( no stopper that we could find so we improvised) The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and microwave, fridge and stove. It had a lot of counter space as well as a great kitchen nook and large dining room table. Comfy couches in the living room and big screen TV. The house was walking distance to several good restaurants ( 5- 10 minutes) and very close to the ocean ( 2 minutes). It was located in a quiet, safe neighbourhood, and garbage and recycling was easy to access. It had a great view of the mountains behind the house and the ocean out the front.

Viel Platz, tolle Ausstattung

Pros: Die Räume sind großzügig geschnitten. Jedes Schlafzimmer hatte ein eigenes Badezimmer. Es gab auch eine Waschmaschine, die genutzt werden konnte.
