Stunning villa, gorgeous pool and views.
Pros: We loved this villa. It is in a brilliant location - Porto da Cruz is a gorgeous little town and the villa itself was perfect. Beautifully clean - wonderful pool - everything we needed including a great barbecue. We met the owner and family who were delightful and so welcoming. The views were incredible and lots of walks from straight out of the villa, we enjoyed a surfing lesson here and had some wonderful food. We would all love to come back!
Cons: Nothing it’s perfect!

Awesome spacious and well equipped villa for a few days
Pros: A lovely spacious villa, very easy to find and park outside on the street. A good base for this part of Madeira. The hosts were very kind and welcomed us. I would recommend taking mosquito spray as we didn’t realise there would be so many and got quite a few bites. Ricardo very kindly gave us lots of fruit and a welcoming pack which was delicious, and we drove to a supermarket for our groceries. Overall a really lovely stay for our family.
Cons: It was all excellent - the only recommendation would be to have a larger frying pan, it was really hard to cook for our family with one tiny one :)

Great base camp for larger group, private pool!
Pros: Would be an epic place for sunny days! Very helpful maid :) Close to Machico, Funchal, and hiking!
Cons: The town doesn't have so much to do, especially as we got bad weather. Not the villa's fault though!

Pros: I recommend staying at Villa Ricardo! Right after our arrival, Mrs. Rubina warmly welcomed us and showed us around the house and garden. The villa is very comfortable and can accommodate up to 6 people in great conditions. Three rooms upstairs, each with a separate bathroom and comfortable beds. The bedding and towels smelled wonderful! :) Guests have access to a swimming pool (you have to remember to let the hosts know in advance to heat the water), a spacious terrace and a living room downstairs. We also have a grill and a fireplace at our disposal. We also got a welcome treat (Madera wine, cake and cookies), which was super nice! We regret that we stayed there only for two days and not for our entire stay in Madeira.

Pros: Hosts Rubina and Ricardo very welcoming and helpful. Property is well equipped. Really appreciated having plenty of towels for indoor and outdoor use.
Cons: Proximity to the busy main road into the village. It drowned out the birdsong and as nature lovers that was disappointing for us. Lack of air conditioning. Fans were provided but couldn't get cool enough to sleep well at night.

Pros: Great location in a lovely village. Rubina our host was exceptional, kind, friendly and very helpful. The villa was better than we thought. Lots if space, swimming pool, laundry facilities, etc, etc. The list goes on. Top views over the bay. A couple of great restaurants, A Pipa, served amazing food. Great bakery as well.
Cons: Leaving, simple as that.
