Nice house with great views perfect for the summer time

Pros: The garden and pool ( even though we could not use it as too cold) the terrace views are stunning. The kitchen was very well equipped. The communication with the owner was good, and she linked quickly with Bruno when needed Location close to Santana and not too far from airport although weather cooler on this side of the island.

Cons: Unfortunately the house is a bit cold and there is a lot of humidity, we had to use the heaters as were cold especially at night. Also there is bad smell in one of the bathrooms and there is need of further house maintenance (replace several light bulbs, better clean the roof lamps etc)

Beautiful Villa with Stunning Views and Excellent Facilities

Pros: The villa was spacious, peaceful, and beautifully located with amazing views over Faial. The facilities were excellent — the kitchen was one of the best stocked I’ve ever seen, with everything you could possibly need, even proper fish knives! The pool was a really good size, and the whole place felt well cared for. The towels and bedding smelt fantastic, and the overall cleanliness was excellent. We had a couple of small issues on arrival (no hot water and a door that wouldn’t lock), but Bruno sorted both out very quickly and was friendly and helpful throughout our stay

Cons: Overall, I absolutely loved it — but if I had to be picky, the pool was quite cold (can’t be helped!), and there were only two sunbeds and two chairs. Since the villa sleeps six, a few more would make it perfect for relaxing by the pool. The TV in the lounge could also be a bit larger for comfortable evening viewing. Only bath towels and flannels were provided, so a few hand towels would have been appreciated.

Beautiful house in a magical country.

Pros: Hikers Haven is perfectly situated for peace and tranquility. The house itself is wonderful. Kitchen well stocked. The pool is a fabulous addition and we used it daily.

Cons: Nothing to dislike. Just note to make the most of hiking you’ll need a car to get around. Although there were lots of bus stops so maybe the bus services are good. We didn’t look into that.

Amazing house and garden in lovely green setting with beautiful views!

Pros: Beautiful house and amazing garden, terrace and pool with stunning views. You can see the waves far below. Beautiful part of the island. Faial is a friendly village. Beach nearby with facilities. Kartodromo down the hill was lots of fun for our son. Nearby wonderful walks in the most stunning scenery. Lush green levada walks and also near Achada do Teixera for the walk to Pico Ruivo. The house is big, we where with 3 persons and only used the two bedrooms with double bed and their bathrooms. Kitchen well equipped. Easy parking in garage under the house. The property is gated, perfect. Street is not busy.

Cons: As other guests already wrote: there are lots of little ants in the kitchen. The owner has provided containers to put your food in. And otherwise its an advise to keep it in the fridge. When you keep it clean you will be fine! The ants will come anyway, they just walk in the evening in rows, but thats okay as long as there is no food for them

Summertime in hikers haven

Pros: Nice house with extraordinary views. Good swimming pool. Owner is very responsive and cooperative.

Cons: Everything was ok. Weather end of July was nice, but we would have loved to have some sunshine.

The place is absolutely amazing, do not hesitate - just book it!

Pros: We really loved the place, the views are absolutely amazing. It looks exactly as you can see in the pictures. The size of the house is really generous for 6 people. House is fully equipped, it has 3 bathrooms which is really handy. Beds are big and comfortable. We managed to park our rented Renault Clio in the garage, which was really great. Bruno (property manager) is lovely and very helpful.

Cons: We didn’t mind ants but I have to admit there is quite a lot of them in the kitchen - thankfully Karen made sure there is lot of food containers :) there is also strong smell from one of the bathrooms, but thankfully all rooms and bathrooms have windows so it’s not a massive problem. Personally I would also change the duvet covers to cotton ones.

Great base for a family to do day trips on Madeira and relax at the swimming pool.

Pros: It was very spacious. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was a good location to discover the island (especially the north side). Having a private swimming pool was really cool (although the weather was not great during our stay).

Cons: We had some minor issues with a gas detector and a leak on a hose of the washing machine. Nothing major.

Pros: Absolutely nice hause. Very beautiful location and area. Easy and quick comunication.

Pros: Brilliant place for vacation very comfortable house beautiful garden, lots of attractions within walking distance. Garage for car, place for bbq, each bedroom with separate bathroom. Worth recommending place

A real home away from home

Pros: Hikers Heaven is a very nice holiday house in the beautiful village of Faial. It is accommodation only, with no breakfast provided. However, there all all the appliances needed to prepare your food, including nice BBQ area outside next to the open-air pool. Supermarkets are available in both Santana and Machico, with a next-door shop and some very nice restaurants for dining out. Faial is a very good starting point to explore the Northern part of the island, but not very far from the Southern part either. You have all the privacy at the place. Very good to share with the family or friends, max of 6 people to be accommodated. A very nice garden in the house, beautiful view and a top terrace to enjoy it all. Garage for the car is also available. in two words, it is a fantastic place.

Cons: We had problems with the hot water, which would be fixed for the next visitors after we have informed the owner of the property. The wi-fi does not have a very good coverage in the bedrooms, but it works perfectly in the dining/sitting room and on the porch.
