Casa Mao-Cheia

Excellent experience

Pros: Juline and Lurdes were excellent guests, their empanadas were delicious and we had a really good time exploring Madeira from their apartment. Would definitely recommend. If we ever come back to the island, we would love to come back to their accomodation.

Pros: Very clean modern flat with modern facilities. Good bbq and washing machine. Great views. Very friendly host who was very helpful and informative. Below lovely little bar with excellent coffee and snacks.

Pros: Very big room, plenty of space. Great view on the landscape below (you are 500m high on sea level). Beautiful big french doors which let in a lot of light in the living room and in the main bedroom. Kitchen is well equipped so you can easily prepare lunch or dinner. Bonus: the bar above is run by flat owners and it is very good and cheap, good for early breakfast (try empanadas and pastel de nata, they are huge!)

Cons: In the second bedroom there were a bit of mustiness and staleness. The bathroom has no windows. Kitchen furniture is a bit old, but still well operating.

Beautiful quiet accommodation in a great location

Pros: Beautiful apartment with an amazing view. Quiet place perfect for relaxing. The host was really friendly and helpful.

Highly recommend!

Pros: Very spacious apartment with a well equipped kitchen. Location was very good for exploring the west side of the island. Host was very welcoming and helped recommend some things to do in the local area. Very handy information book inside and a guest book (nice touch!). Snack bar above was lovely and the coffee excellent! The bar seemed to be very popular in the morning with locals, a big positive in our eyes.

Beautiful apartment with a great view!

Pros: The apartment was lovely, and a lot bigger than it had looked in the photos. The view from the balcony was beautiful, & the hosts were super friendly. It was a convenient location to stay in order to move around Madeira by car. Thank you for this great stay!

Nice place to stay, central to the island and it is convenient to have a coffee bar at your doorstep

Pros: The owners are on site on arrivsl and were helpful, friendly.

Pros: Large, spacious apartment with a well-equipped kitchen. A good base for exploring the island. Thank you very much for the nice welcome with delicious Madeira specialties!

Cons: In December it was a little chilly- we had to reheat with a heater. Smell of humidity.

Pros: Parking at the door, quiet location, spacious and clean rooms and the kitchen equipped with all the necessary dishes. The hosts are working at the cafe upstairs and are very helpful

Cons: You can hear the cafe upstairs opening and preparing for the day around 7 am, but it's a very mild background noise, won't wake up if you don't sleep light. For me it even helped to get up at the right time to go out for a hike

New spacious house with terrace in a charming village

Pros: Nice place in a small village, top terrace to chill and sunbath which features a pretty good view of the mountains. Good supermarket in proximity. The host was also very kind. We enjoyed it a lot and already miss the spot :(

Cons: The bar above opens very early in the morning and the noise would wake us up a bit. Also, we would welcome a built-in net against insect + the bedroom doors to have a possibility to be opened only as a ventilation for night.
