An excellent short stay at Mountain View Star

Pros: The location: I specifically chose a place to stay that didn't involve lots of driving down narrow roads. This was barely a couple of km from the main ring road. Access to the property: This was via a few steps from the road. The police personnel beneath the apartment even charged my phone for me when I'd run out of charge on arrival and couldn't remember the apartment number. The 'feel' of the apartment: Cosy but functional and with nice views in both directions looking out over the Madeiran landscape. The balcony: Perfect for breakfasts and suppers. Supermarkets: A well stocked supermarket was less than a five minute walk from the apartment.

Cons: Nothing really. Very occasionally, a bit of patience was required to find a parking spot between blue lines. However, the parking areas were visible from the apartment balcony and with the help of a local friendly neighbour, I generally managed to find a designated space.

Pros: Super clean, full amenities, very friendly guest and she texted me all the details about the accommodation even with pictures about the entrance and the parking area. I liked that it had complimentary big bottle of water and 2 caps of coffee plus some teas. There is even a specific place on the ground floor that you can clean your hiking boots. Pros: The bedroom has a little kitchen with all the appliances needed! Really clean.

Cons: The bathroom towels didn’t smell so great but there were clean

Pros: Lovely apartment, was given great instructions to check in with lock box etc. Lovely views

Cons: You do need a car to access the area and surrounding shops. It's a very steep hill so not ideal to walk etc. We had a car so no problems but worth flagging.

Super nice, big and clean apartment in a safe area

Pros: The apartment was big, clean and the host Viktoria was super helpful and friendly. She would always respond straight away and made sure we had an amazing stay here.

Pros: The property is situated in a really quiet place, we liked it. If you want night life this isn't the right place to be. It was easy to collect the key, and the information was clear. The parking space is available in the front of the building, parking fees apply from 09-17, but parking is free the rest of the day and on weekends. Free street parking is available on the other side of the building. The room was clean and equipped with a toaster, pots and pans, a kettle, a microwave, a coffee machine, and so on. The room service isn't free.

Cons: I would have liked the towels to be changed at least once, but it was not a problem. The internet speed is not that good and sometimes we have issues with the wi-fi signal.

Pros: We found everything we needed in the apartment. It was well equipped and clean. The owner communicated with us very nicely and quickly. We had a view of the mountains. Parking was possible at the back entrance. It was a very comfortable accommodation.

Cons: We could only open the windows when we were in the apartment, because there was a terrace around the apartment, which other people also used to access their apartment. A few mosquitoes got into the room. It would need some mosquito repellent. The apartment has few electrical outlets and none at all near the beds. The bathroom door was bumping and blocking one of the electrical outlets.

If I ever come back to Madeira I will definetely rent a room again.

Pros: Nice and clean apartment. Kitchen was great equipped. Clear instructions for check-in and check-out. Communication with the owner was very helpful.

Pros: Very good apartment, it really exceeded my expectations. Communication was very good, super easy check in and check out and Viktoria was always available to reply to our needs. The apartment is clean and had everything we needed for a nice stay. Thank you ☺️🏝️
