Varandas Funchal-Near center

We had a wonderful holiday, our second in this apartment block. We would gladly return.

Pros: This apartment is in a great location for access to the town (albeit at the top of an extremely steep hill) and the view from the balcony is amazing. The apartment is very spacious, comfortable and generally very well-presented. We were very grateful for the early check-in which was arranged for us.

Cons: The bathroom could do with updating and there were a few maintenance issues with the property, some of which were efficiently addressed while we were there. Unfortunately the lift for the whole block was out of action for our stay, and there was intrusive noise at times from the adjacent construction site.

Pros: Fabulous views over the city...good central location...very quiet (except for building work opposite!)

Cons: Very steep hill up to property!

Fantastic Location!

Pros: The location is amazing. Walking distance to the marina, old town, cable car and shopping. We rented a car for $300 and left it parked in the garage. We didn't even need it. One note, there is a very steep hill necessary in reaching the apartment so if you're not in good physical shape that might be a deterrent. The balcony offers great visibility to the fireworks on new years.

Excellent stay

Pros: Liked the space, the balcony and the amazing views of Funchal, the parking, the location and how close was to the center.. Great assistance from Mr Vitor who fixed the remote controls for the television.

Cons: Could not use the washing machine as liquid was not included. Same with other products needed to run an apartment like toilet paper, rubish bags etc. It would be nice to be included not so much for their value (as it is minimal) but more for the practicality.

Pros: We had a great stay at Varandas do Funchal. The flat is conveniently located and really beautiful. We really enjoyed the balcony overlooking Funchal. Our host made pick up and departure extremely easy for us (with these included in the accommodation cost).

Good value for money.

Pros: Great location, walking distance from the city centre. Nice pool and bathing area - neighbours were very nice. Kitchen had cooking appliances. Overall, the room was well equipped.

Cons: There was construction when we arrived so the balcony couldn't be used and the view was blocked.

A very enjoyable stay.

Pros: Varandas Do Funchal is conveniently placed for walking into the center of Funchal. The apartment is well-equipped with everything needed for a self-contained holiday. The views are superb over Funchal towards the harbour and the pool is an added bonus. Antonio who greeted us at the apartment was extremely welcoming and helpful. We found our stay to be fantastic value for money.

Pros: Große Räume und gute Ausstattung. Benutzung des Pools und der Terrasse.

Cons: Wenig Ausstattung in der Küche an Lebensmitteln (Öl, Kaffee etc, die man nicht in einer Woche verbraucht). Apartment war noch nicht fertig als wir ankamen.

Prima, goed genoeg!

Pros: We konden bij aankomst onze auto parkeren in een afgesloten garage met een eigen plek, dit was heel fijn! Het appartement was aanwezig op de 4e (bovenste verdieping) en zag er mooi ruim en netjes uit. De bedden waren comfortabel en het balkon met uitkijk op het zwembad was een leuke toevoeging. Er was tot mijn verbazing een wasmachine aanwezig en een keuken met genoeg apparatuur en benodigdheden. Het appartement was dicht bij het centrum en we hadden een mooi uitzicht over Funchal. Het zwembad was prima en niet te druk. Er waren constructie werkzaamheden bezig tegen over het appartement maar daar heb en we geen last van gehad.

Cons: Helaas was de badkamer een beetje oud en zat er wat schimmel op de muur/plafond. De welkomst versnaperingen waren wat mager (2 zakjes thee en 2 zakjes oploskoffie). Er waren niet genoeg WC rollen voor ons gehele verblijf en kregen ieder 1 setje handdoeken die we zelfs moesten wassen maar er was geen wasmiddel aanwezig. De weg naar het appartement was echt heel steil en erg vermoeiend dus als je slecht ter been bent of geen goede conditie hebt is dit wel een uitdaging. De meeste bedjes bij het zwembad waren stuk dus soms was het even zoeken naar een goed bedje.

Pros: El apartamento está súper bien equipado y es comodísimo. Muy cerca del centro de Funchal.
