Sun Hill Apartment

Pros: :Everything was excellent: the personalized service, the apartment with all the necessary amenities for our stay, clean, beautiful, and with a gorgeous ocean view.

Cons: The only downside is that access is a bit tricky if you don't rent a car.

Pros: Recently renovated self contained apartment ideal for two.

Pros: The apartment exceeded our expectations. Very clean, looks like newly renovated and better than on the photos. It's fun to sit in the garden and watch the airplanes on their final approach. Comfortable parking situation in front of the apartment. Very short distances to Funchal and the airport. Superfriendly hosts.

Cozy apartment for 2 with a beautiful view.

Pros: Very easy key collection. I like the independence the most. Upon arrival we were greeted with a surprise - water and a snack. That was very nice. The host is very friendly. Comfortable stay with a beautiful view of the ocean.

Cons: It didn't bother us, but the airport is very close and the planes are quite loud when landing and taking off. However, it's less noisy than in Funchal, where the roads are very (even) louder.

Best choice close to the airport and in Madeira's east

Pros: A perfect choice for your stay close to the airport and in the eastern part of Madeira, in general. Very close to the highway access and bus stop (incl. a direct to the airport as well as Funchal town). Also very convenient for plane spotting directly from the apartment. The village of Santa Cruz is not far either (walk, bus). The apartment itself was very clean and modern. The bed was a very comfortable double bed, great shower. There is a table and chairs to eat outside on the terrace. Parking is right in front. There are several groceries in walking distance. The location is very quiet (except for occasional late-night landings). There was a nice welcome waiting for us, after a well-explained check-in. The host is very friendly and helpful. We fully recommend this apartment!!!

Pros: Sun Hill Apartment was the perfect accomodation for our stay in Madeira. Located in a strategic position between Funchal and the airport, it allows you to reach every service you may need in <15 mins and it even has a spectacular view on the airport runway. Admiring airplanes approaching and leaving the island during the sunset truly was the cherry on the cake. The apartment is super well-equipped and we appreciated the cleaniness at every corner. The small and cozy garden just outside the entrance door lets you enjoy your meals while admiring a stunning ocean view. Parking a car is easy, just in front of the apartment entrance. Wifi worked fantastically. Last but not least, the kindness and helpfulness of the owner was top notch. She was always reliable for any question or even some nice tip on what to visit on the island. To sum up: totally recommended!

Lovely apartment.

Pros: The apartment was perfect for our needs with ample parking outside and all the kitchen utensils required to self cater if needed. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was great too. Cristina was always available but kept a friendly distance. She was really helpful and made us feel very welcome in her accommodation

Cons: The only issue is the location in that you need a hire car really to stay at this property as although it has a couple of basic supermarket style shops nearby there’s not much else within short walking distance. There are a couple of bars nearby.

Pros: New facilities, very well equipped and clean apartman, kind host, great view from the terrace, we had everything we needed :) thank you!

Cons: The apartman is close to the airport therefore you can hear (and see) the planes landing/taking off, which was not a problem for us rather it was interesting to see.

A very clean, functional and organized apartment. Definitely to be repeated when we come back.

Pros: Everything was clean and organized. The apartment is equipped with everything you might need. The backyard is really nice and has a great view. Cristina was very friendly and helpful.

Cons: Although the apartment doesn’t have too much light during the day, during the sunrise it becomes bright enough to disrupt your sleep if you’re sensitive to light. The light comes from a vertical glass panel near the door.
