This truly special place

Pros: This Old House in Madeira is a truly special place. I felt incredibly good there — surrounded by silence, peace, and nature. The sunsets over the ocean are breathtaking and unforgettable. It’s a sanctuary of calm, filled with love for nature, cats, and cinema. The rooms are very comfortable, thoughtfully and creatively decorated. I especially loved the collection of DVD movies, books, and all the small details that give this place its unique soul. Guests have access to a shared kitchen, and having coffee on the terrace at sunrise… those colors are simply magical. The hosts — Oktawia and Thomas — are warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming. You can feel they have truly found their place on earth and generously share it with others. I wholeheartedly recommend This Old House to anyone looking for peace, inspiration, and a deep connection with nature.

Quiet, peaceful, with beautiful natural surroundings

Pros: It wasn’t award and traditional or modern and soulless. It was quirky and charming, super comfortable and all to a very high standard.

Cons: Initially, I didn’t really like the idea of having to step outside to walk from the bedroom to the private bathroom in the middle of the night, when I did it a few times and enjoyed the quietness and the moonlight, and the return to the cozy bed, then I learn to love it.

Pros: We really liked how it was all very well equipped, in a really quiet and peaceful location. We liked the host and that it had a parking spot available. There is really Nothing bad we can say about this property.

An absolute JOY to stay in !

Pros: Beautifully recently refurbished property. Decorated with care and love and great attention to detail. Everything works well and is a pleasure to also look at. Warm welcoming atmosphere. The location is perfect if looking for calm and quiet but not too far with car from sights/places. Wonderful walking opportunities straight from doorstep!

Cons: We loved everything but to NOTE there are a few steps up and down to access room and the small (very cute ! ) kitchen area .

Tranquillità ed ospitalità!

Pros: Posizione ottima per chi ricerca tranquillità! Stanza accogliente e pulita con letti comodissimi! Inoltre la possibilità di usare una cucina che è molto carina e attrezzata

Cons: Un po' umida la stanza, ma è vero che abbiamo trovato giorni piovosi!

A great place to stop and explore the northwest coast of Madeira

Pros: Cozy atmosphere, comfortable beds, beautiful views, and welcoming hosts. There's a fully equipped kitchen.

Kleine geschmackvolle Oase mit besonderem spirit!

Pros: Liebevoll restauriertes altes Haus in ruhiger Lage, geschmackvoll eingerichtete Themenzimmer, man fühlt sich wie Zuhause! Kleine separate gemütliche Küche mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet. Sehr freundliche Gastgeber, geben gute Tips für nahe Wanderungen. Sehr saubere Unterkunft. Badezimmer modern eingerichtet. Super Sonnenuntergang von der Terrasse am großen Garten. Parkplatz vorm Haus. Eine wundervolle Oase zum Chillen fernab von Stress. Busverbindung von der Hauptstraße (ca. 500m den Berg hinauf) vorhanden. Essen zum Kochen sollte man mitbringen, der nächste Supermarkt ist erst im nächsten Dorf.

Pros: Un petit coin de paradis, nous y avons passé 3 nuits et aurions pu y rester plus! C'est très calme, les hôtes sont accueillants, la chambre est confortable et la vue est incroyable... En plus la petite cuisine est très mignonne et bien équipée. Un grand merci pour ce séjour, All the best for this Old House !
