A unique location in the middle of a vineyard with views to die for. Fabulous!

Pros: The location is lovely in a beautiful old farmhouse with comfortable rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent.

Cons: Not many alternative places to eat nearby. The drive is steep and narrow – not for the faint-hearted, if driving. There were not many places to put things out, so our room would have benefited from a small dressing table with a mirror above and a socket for using your own hairdryer, if required. It was quite noisy at night when it rained or when there were strong winds.

Pros: The venue was perfect - gorgeous view. It was peaceful, comfortable and the staff were friendly. Strongly recommend it.

Cons: Leaving some fresh milk out for the tea and coffee that is available outside of breakfast times.

A quiet, cosy base to explore the area.

Pros: Our cottage was very comfortable and tastefully furnished, and a very cosy place to come back to after a long walk. The restaurant was also excellent.

Pros: Overall quality was very good. The breakfast was delicious and staff was friendly, attentive and spoke good English. The room was spacious and clean.

Cons: The location is beautiful in a vineyard, but that causes the entrance and parking space to be somewhat small. That is however a small sacrifice for a great hotel!

Fabulous!

Pros: We stayed recently at Quinta das Vinhas and a wonderful stay, it was a lovely quiet relaxing location with lovely staff and facilities. I liked that we were away from the main the hotel in the self catering cottage. It was lovely to see the history of the main house and the vineyard.

Cons: There wasn't much that didn't like but I would have loved a blue tooth speaker or some system in the cottage to play music.

Maderia 2025 - Quinta das Vinhas

Pros: A quiet place away from Funchal and a perfect setting to relax and explore Maderia. Ideally you need a hire car, As the bus service is every 3-4 Hours which gives you great views of the island at it's best. The views over the vineyard and Atlantic Ocean superb as you have breakfast on a terrace by the main house in which we stayed I recommend for any one with mobility issues rather than a cottage. Go again and yes recommend to others too.
