Casinhas da Figueira

Excellent!

Pros: Quiet village location, with cafes/restaurants nearby. Nice walk to the local beach - Praia da Figueira. We were in casinha 4. I was surprised how spacious it was. Nice decor and furnishings - a lot of thought has gone into creating this accommodation. Very well equipped kitchen. Large shower area, plenty of hot water. Comfortable bed. Living room area was also comfortable. Two small patio areas to catch the morning and afternoon sunshine. There was a useful information book inside the accommodation. Very good WhatsApp communication with the owner, Nienke. The accommodation was a great base for accessing various starting points on the Fishermen's Path.

Cons: It didn't bother us as we didn't use it, but given how spacious casinha 4 is, the TV is rather small!

Very welcoming and pleasant place to stay.

Pros: Everything was clean and all that was needed was available. Very family friendly and very nice gardens.

Cons: Need to ensure that dehumidifier is empty at the end of each visit.

Pros: Our family loved the house and the garden. Very peaceful and relaxed village. The host Nieki was very friendly, my kids loved playing in the garden picking up apples and watching the fishes . The house is very closed to the beach and several restaurants, only 3 mts drive to the beautiful beach of salema and 27mts to lagos beach meia praia. There was a closer beach 15 mts walk but because we were with 3 young children's we didn't visit. I definitely recommend casinhas da figueira

We highly recommend this charming cottage in a quiet location to other visitors.

Pros: Everything! The garden was enchantingly beautiful and very well laid out with a huge variety of well-chosen plants. The cottage itself was ideal with everything we needed. The ceramics were very tasteful and the beds comfortable. The surrounding area is not over-commercialised and has a local feel to it. The nearest restaurant is very good with very friendly owners who served up some lovely fish.

Cons: We liked everything.

Pros: Really great to have a beach at walking distance, and such a nice walk to get there.

Pros: We really loved our stay at Casinas, it felt like a second home. Nienke (the host and the owner) was super nice and responsive. The house is spacious and fully furnished (it even has a vacuum cleaner which we appreciated with a toddler crawling all around the floor). We also enjoyed the garden which is shared with other 3 houses but is smartly designed so that there’s a lot of privacy for everyone and you can choose if you want to interact with others in common areas or use your own private patio with seating. There’s couple of nice restaurants in the village and lovely beach within 20mins walk. We will be happy to come back again!

Pros: This is a hidden treasure. It felt like entering a secret garden as we opened the gate. Our cottage was a delightful, traditional-style building with a garden full of birdsong and lemon blossom scent.

Great holiday base for your surfing or hiking adventures.

Pros: Very comfortable accommodation for our three families of friends. The property has a great atmosphere. The host is very friendly and responds very quickly. The surrounding beaches are very nice for surfing (and possibly swimming in the summer).

Cons: Heating us the two bigger appartments was a little challenging in March (they have a wood burning stove in one of the rooms). This was not a problem with the smallest appartment, which has electric heating. And, of course, this would not be a problem in a warmer weather.

Pros: The apartment is super cozy. The garden was amazing and the Nienke (host) was super nice!! Also there is a surf shop next door where you can rent surfboard and equipment super cheap. We spent a really nice holiday there.

Pros: Great place, cosy apartments with a beautiful secluded garden and with a beautiful beach a 20 min walk away. The host was very helpful!
