Fantastic property and location in the very welcoming village of Gaula

Pros: Property had everything we needed, kitchen was very well equipped including a barista style coffee machine. Balconies on every side, 2 conservatories (one facing South very hot and the other North cool all day), huge South facing patio and another hidden patio in shade. Gaula is amazing, everyone is really friendly and happy to see visitors. We especially like the local restaurants (50m and 150m uphill) where there are no menus – you just discuss with the chefs what you want the day before and they source and cook to perfection. On the last day, we just left it up to the Taberna chef who cooked us a fabulous meal at exceptional value. Local bus stop directly outside to Camacha and Sant Cruz but also has its own car park space. Breakfast and fresh bread at the bakery opposite and the local store next door has everything you need at very reasonable prices.

Cons: You are directly above a bar which is open until 2AM or later at weekends. Can be noisy BUT just join in! You will have a brilliant time playing table football, drinking the local beer and hanging with the locals. Right next to the church with bells every quarter hour from 6AM - we just shut the window and all was fine.

Pros: Very nice big clean house with everything you need to have a great stay. Very spacious Lovely touch of having milk & biscuits and juice and water, we arrived at 1 am with 2 young children and the kids enjoyed drinking milk and biscuits. Obrigado Casa Da Cerca

Cons: Everything was excellent we really enjoyed our stay.

Pros: Very clean and welcoming place, extra comfortable beds, had everything a family might for day to day life, amazing bakery across the road, convenient parking space next to the apartment.

Pros: Very well equiped appartment, with a lot of room. Bakery next door is amazing.

Great stay in a very roomy property with loads of light

Pros: Lovely quiet location overall. Easy to get to Funchal, airport and surrounding areas easily. Huge property with loads of space and lovely lounging areas, especially the front sun room and the patio/veranda at the back.

Cons: The sound isolation is not great but honestly that is not a real issue since the area is quiet overall.

Pros: When we got in the house a little sweets surprise was waiting for us which was very nice and kind of the owners. The house is huge, there is a market across the house, a restaurant and a cafeteria. Kitchen was well equipped with a lot of Tupperwares which we used a lot since we always cooked at home and took the food with us. We had a small problem with water late at night and owners responded quickly and fixed the problem within 10 minutes although it was very late. It’s equipped with everything you need, basically like you are in your home. Thanks!

Pros: Na przywitanie czekał poczęstunek (babeczki, ciasteczka, napój owocowy, mleko) to było bardzo miłe i świadczyło o tym że ktoś dla nas to mieszkanko przygotował. Mieszkanie bardzo duże, kuchnia, nasze centrum życia jak już byliśmy w mieszkaniu - bardzo estetyczna i dobrze wyposażona w sprzęt. Dodatkowo taras z ogrodem zimowym, dwie łazienki. Na wyposażeniu, grzejniki elektryczne do dogrzewania sypialni w nocy (bardzo się przydały). Dzwony kościoła w sąsiedztwie w ogóle nie przeszkadały. W bliskiej okolicy piekarnio-cukiernia, sklep spożywczy i bar - świeże pieczywo codziennie rano to było bardzo przyjemne. Kontakt z właścicielem bardzo responsywny.

Cons: Świetlówka w kuchni przy spadku napięcia gaśnie na chwilę - wymienić na LED. Wyposażyć kuchnię w odrobinę soli, pieprzu, cukru i herbatę/kawę - nigdy tych produktów nie zabieram ze sobą, mam nadzieję, że znajdę je w kuchni, przynajmniej w minimalnych ilościach na start.

Pros: La casa è molto spaziosa e dotata di tutte le comodità possibili, è letteralmente come stare a casa propria, l'host ha pensato davvero a tutto, non manca nulla! Inoltre negli immediati dintorni ci sono molti bar, ristoranti, panetterie, pur essendo una zona tranquilla. A qualsiasi domanda ci è stato risposto con grande cortesia e rapidamente. Consiglio vivamente di soggiornare in questo meraviglioso appartamento.

Genial

Pros: La casa es muy completa y linda. El anfitrión, Gabriel, también es muy amable y nos ayudó en todo momento con cualquier duda que teníamos. Nos gustó mucho la terraza de la casa. Tiene buena ubicación, cerca de Funchal, y buena comunicación con las carreteras principales para recorrer toda la isla.

Cons: El único comentario malo que tenemos es que la cama de matrimonio y sus almohadas no son muy cómodas (para nuestro gusto)
