Cons: The house is a bit cold but Lucia is happy to provide a heather, which helps.

If you want to forget the modern hectic life, this is the right choice.
Pros: Apartment is in a nice quiet non-touristic area. There is a little shop close by for most of our needs. Bar close by. Great off road parking. There is a terace where you can sit in the evenings with a lovely view of the mountains and the village below. Our host is very caring and gave us lots of fruit and vegetables from her garden. The apartment was very clean. For those who like walking and hiking in the mountains it is in a good location. It does not have the most modern equipment, but everything you need is there allowing you to relax and unwind.
Cons: For us, the double bed was a little narrow for our liking. Note though, the single beds are great.

Very enjoyable stay in a quiet locale.
Pros: Lucia was a wonderful hostess, making us feel immediately at home with her very warm welcome. She popped around each night with tasty food she had prepared during the day, and her dog Linda is very friendly. Sao Jorge is great if you would prefer a quieter, less touristy, more authentic destination. The facilities for the 4 of us were great, including the speedy Wi fi. Off street parking was also tops and greatly appreciated. We didn't sit on the verandah, but agreed it would have been a lovely place to enjoy a glass of something with nibbles at the end of the day.
Cons: 1 roll of toilet paper per couple for 4 nights was inadequate. It would have been nice to have more condiments in the kitchen (salt, pepper and olive oil). But these small things were outweighed by Lucia's warmth and generosity.

The friendliest welcome to Madeira.
Pros: We received a very warm welcome from Lucia and her dog, Linda. It is situated in a quiet village with local amenities and is conveniently located for local hikes and easy access to the island's excellent road network. The exceptional hospitality made it very memorable.

Nice, authentic place with amazing and friendly host!
Pros: Lucia was perfect host and really made us feel like home! Very friendly, open and warm-hearted woman. We felt welcomed and well taken care of! The apartment was tidy and comfortable. If you’d like to feel real Madeira vibe, and experience authentic location in non-touristy spot, this is the place.

Excellent stay for anyone who likes to experience local hospitaly
Pros: Lucía is like a sweet mama and Linda is her friendly furry companion. Never have we experienced such welcoming hosts! The place itself is spacious and clean. Outside you’ll find a terrace with view of the quiet street and church. It is in close proximity of a mini market and a couple of cafes that sell coffee and tostas (like a grilled cheese sandwich). People are friendly. There is a basket of fruits provided plus fresh herbs in the kitchen. If you want to experience Madeira hospitality you should definitively go here. By car you can easily drive up to PR9 Levada do Caldeirão Verde, PR18 Levada do Rei, or even Pico Ruivo.
Cons: The beds are of great quality but a bit on the short side for my husband who is 1.90m.

The perfect accommodation for a family holiday.
Pros: A very lovely apartment in a prime location. The owner, Lucia, was extremely friendly and welcoming. Her dog, Linda, was gorgeous and a lovely companion for the time we stayed. The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including the fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evenings, watching the sun set over the mountains. Good value for money and an enjoyable stay.
Cons: The water pressure in the shower wasn't very powerful at times, but was fine if there was no other water running in the apartment. There was a drainage smell coming from the bathroom, although this was only more apparent towards the end of our stay.
