Casa dos Valentes

Really nice place and good location

Pros: Such hospitality! We were able to check in the morning after our arrival and as soon as we arrived, the owner was there with fresh bread baked by his wife. They also provided us with basic groceries, even though we were only here for two nights due to time constraints. The view from the house, especially at sunset, is breathtaking. The peace and quiet! The dehumidifiers worked, so we didn't feel the humidity, so typical of the islands and especially during our stay at the end of the year. There was also a heater. The location is excellent. There is also a beautiful church nearby, note the roof of the tower. And right next to the church is a building where the kind gentleman invited us to tour the huge, beautiful Bethlehem. You have to see that!

Cons: The bed was not very comfortable, especially the small, squeaky pillows. Probably hygienic. Despite the heater provided, we were cold here. We were here at the end of the year.

Pros: Very nice house, very clean, beautiful view if you take your first coffee on the table outside or eat dinner on sunset.

Cons: The road to the parking lot is scary with a sharp bend and a very extreme slope. The kitchen is well equipped but small and not suitable for tall people because there is an arch in front of the stove and sink, tall people have to bend down to avoid getting hit in the head. There is no air-conditioning and in the azores it is critical.

Pros: A perfect place to visit the islad. It is a pleasure to have breakfast around the wood. The anfitrion was really nice.

Pros: Really nice host. The house is surrounded by a beautiful landscape, really relaxing. Shop, booked change and restaurant in walking distance.

Rural gem

Pros: Nice litte, free-standing house in a very quite and rural area of the island. Spacious and well equipped. Comfortable beds, fast and reliable Wifi. Pleasant contact with the owner (who lives about 150 Meters away), fast reaction times.

Cons: Only minor things: a little bit dark, some sewage smell from the shower, noisy bathroom ventilation.

Comfortable cottage with lovely views

Pros: Spacious, well equipped, comfortable cottage. Host provided bread, jam, coffee etc. Peaceful elevated position with a lovely view. Friendly owner

Cons: Very steep drive (with bend) up to the cottage. 20 min drive to the nearest fuel station.

A Casa in the rural setting.

Pros: A rustic house with a view, outside the village (700 m to the Brasilian bar in Santo Espírito). On a small hill with a tricky but manageable drive up. Pedro is a very helpful and responsible host and in case of any problem (we had with a hot water) he reacted immediately. The casa with all comfort needed for a nice stay on the island. We recommend Casa dos Valentes very much.

I was very comfortable and wish I could have stayed longer!
