Villa Calçada

Wonderful stay

Pros: The villa has fantastic views. The airport is near by, you can see planes passing which is entertaining still it's a pretty quiet location. You do need a car to get around and get used to steep hills. We had a great time exploring the island with an amazing tunnel system. We very much enjoyed our stay at villa Calcada.

We had a fabulous two weeks at Villa Calcada and were sad to leave. It was a real home from home with amazing views!

Pros: Five mins from airport 👍 Arlindo and his son greeted us on arrival and settled us in. The views from bedrooms, living area, kitchen and terrace are fabulous. The private pool is a good size appointed with loungers, table and umbrella. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and had very helpful extras like salt, oil, dishwashing liquid and laundry liquid. The owner even provided bread, milk, eggs and water for us in the fridge on our arrival. We loved having space to spread out and 3 bathrooms! We enjoyed watching the planes coming into land from the terrace and the sweet little Madeira lizards in the garden. We visited in July and although no A/C in the property we would not have needed it- a very comfortable temperature in the house meant we all had good nights sleep.

Cons: We really had no negatives about the property. There is a very steep road to negotiate to enter/leave the property but you get used to it.

Pros: I took bolt from the airport, easy to find the place, 5 min from airport. Host was already there, welcomed me, showed me house, main things, handle the keys and left :) very simple and efective

Perfect relaxation in a brilliant location with a stunning view.

Pros: Stunning views from both bedroom, the sitting room, and the terrace/pool.

Cons: Make sure to take the winding road to the property as it is on a steep hill. Totally fine going downhill in the car but difficult going up.

Pros: Villa Calçada is a very beautiful house, with an exceptional view of the ocean, and at the same time, it gives you the opportunity to enjoy the plane landings at Funchal Cristiano Ronaldo airport.The house is large, spacious, bright, with a small, charming garden that allows you to enjoy the sun's rays from the pool.You can also enjoy the silence, the only noises heard are those of nature.

Cons: I didn't find anything that I didn't like. The hosts were very understanding with us and understood our arrival time.For For that, I thank them.

Pros: We had a wonderful time in this house, the view was amazing from all rooms, and also watching the planes coming in was fascinating. The pool was perfect for the hot days of August, relaxing and watching my son having fun in the pool. The house is on a hill, we had a car but you can walk too. On your own pace and time. Our flight was late, Arlindo the host a super nice man waited for us at the house. Because we arrived late at night, he showed us the way to the village where we could have dinner and drinks. There were essential things in the fridge for breakfast in the morning. We loved our 5 days in this property. Will definitely be back!

Amazing villa with exceptional views

Pros: We had a lovely stay in Villa Calçada. The villa is excellent and has amazing views. The location is great and it is easy to access the whole of the island. It was very clean and has parking available. Exceptional host

Cons: Quite a steep hill to drive up and you need to have a car to get around the island. The water pressure in shower is a little weak and the water takes a while to warm up. Little ammendities like sugar, milk and tea would be nice as we arrived late at night. All very minor things though, would highly recommend and would stay again.

If you're into driving steep roads and nice ocean views - that's your choice! Highly recommended!

Pros: It's a mix of old stone made house (when you come to the parking) and a very cool modern villa with a pool is you are in the front side. The view is stunning, you have an overview of Santa Cruz, Atlantic ocean and planes going to the FUN airport. A lot of space, 2 BRs, 3 toilets. The host was very helpful and eager to help with any kind of request we had.

Cons: I needed to work from this villa remotely and needed a good wifi connection. Unfortunately the WiFi infra was not that great in the house so I've spent a lot of time in the room next to the WiFi router. If you're not a confident driver, you may be a bit scared by the steep road that goes to the property, you'd better rent a car with enough horse power to drive up the hill. We also got a bit of bad luck with hot water... the pressure on the top floor was poor so sometimes taking a shower was a challenge.

Séjour inoubliable ! Maison parfaite !!!

Pros: Tout était parfait ! Très très bon séjour, très confortable, maison parfaite ! Très bien située !! Si un jour nous revenons à Madère ça sera chez vous !!

Pros: Widok z okna na ocean i miasto, przelatujace samoloty, przytulnie urządzony dom. Ze wzgledy na stromy podjazd polecam samochod w automacie.

Cons: Brak zmywarki, ale daliśmy radę ;-)
