Apartamento do Carmo by An Island Apart

Ideal base for a self catering holiday with easy access to amenities.

Pros: Central location, but quiet. outside terrace. Cleanliness. Prompt response from managing company to our requests. Pleasant decor.

Cons: Lacking some basic kitchen equipment when we arrived. Quickly remedied by the managing company. Just one wall socket in kitchen, but many appliances.Squeaky floorboards

Good quiet place for to stay a week or two.

Pros: Modern Apartment good equipped very near shopping, market, restaurants, busterminal and waterfront.

Cons: No heating installed and december temperatures can be low. Floor making noise when walking around. Bathroom hot/cold water switched.

Great location in the centre of Funchal (but maybe take some earplugs)

Pros: Very central location. Plenty amenities nearby. The flat was modern, clean and pretty well equipped. The property managers were very helpful. Your booking/guest area with the property managers allows you to book plenty things for your holiday, e.g. excursions around the island (which, granted, we didn't use but is still a nice-to-have).

Cons: The bed was not the most comfortable thing ever even if it was pretty big. It creaked quite a bit and loudly too. The floorboards also creaked significantly but, from what we could tell, so did those in adjacent flats. It was just more noticeable at night. The road outside is small but very busy.

Pros: The Location was great. The kitchen was good. The staff came all the way to provide an additional fan and that was very kind of them. The location was great, everything was nearby and quiet roads. Spacious house and all facilities were included.

Cons: There was no Aircon and summers are too hot to sleep at nights. Fans available but wasn't that useful.

Very happy with the apartment

Pros: Location close to Funchal centre. Buses very near. Excellent supermarket 200 metres away.

Cons: Water in shower was too hot at start but then ran cold by the time we had both had showers.

Pros: The proximity of the apartment to the centre and old town.

Pros: Great location - close to sea, old quarter and bus stations. Apartment was clean, neighbourhood quiet, there's a cozy little coffee house downstairs.

Cons: I have zero complaints!

Great value for money!

Pros: The location is excellent, very close walking distance to the old town and the promenade. Lots of supermarkets and restaurants nearby, we particularly enjoyed Venezia ice cream parlour. The apartment is clean and completed to a high standard with great facilities and a lovely kitchen and bathroom. The space is small but fine when you’re out most of the day exploring!

Cons: The apartment doesn’t have air conditioning, which meant it was quite hot sometimes however they supplied a fan which we used at night and was sufficient.

Rua do Carmo is a fantastic place to live and the apartment made it even more special

Pros: Location, new and plenty equipment, nice couch, space inside the apartment, fridge water dispenser, quick help

Cons: One tiny part of communication over one critique

Pros: In het centrum van Funchal gelegen. Keuken was goed. Badkamer goed. Rustig, alhoewel het toch een gehorig pand is.

Cons: Gehorig pand. Geen terrasje of balkon. Niet echt gezellig.
