Good but could be improved!

Pros: The view of the city & harbour were exceptional. A nice gesture was a small shop of food on arrival. Kitchen well stocked & host was always on hand.

Cons: For our taste there was too much in the way of furniture , books & ornaments which restricted space. The balcony area would benefit from a closed in area as it was too cold to use on winter evenings!

Wonderful apartment with all you need and much more, very centrally located. Highly recommended!

Pros: Super well- equipped apartment with an AMAZING terrace overlooking Funchal. Quiet and still very central. Communication with Michael, the owner, was fabulous. What a beautiful stay!

Perfect homebase to discover Madeira

Pros: Feels like a home. Nice terrace with view over Funchal and the ocean and sunshine with your morning coffee. Very well equiped appartement which makes it a perfect homebase fo a longer stay. You can discover the island with a cheap bus system. All the museums are down the road. Michael is a great host!

Cons: It's a bit of a climb up the hill and some of the dogs in the neighbourhood didn't stop barking.

We loved our stay, the view from the terrace was a daily delight and the owner was so knowledgeable!

Pros: The location, the beautiful terrace with views over Funchal, the helpfulness of the owner, the well equipped kitchen, a lovely welcoming bowl of fresh fruit and bottle of wine.

Cons: Not enough cupboard and drawer space for clothes.

The nicest apartment we ever stayed with a gorgeous view

Pros: Michael is a very welcoming host - thank you for everything! The apartment is clean, beautiful, comfortable, has all amenities needed for a comfortable and pleasant stay. It also is very charming and has a lot of nice detailing around which makes it very cosy, and the view - astonishing! Pictures of the view and apartment does a justice to an extent as you can't hide the gem of the place it is, but when I actually got there I was in awe more so.

The best place for a couple to stay in Funchal

Pros: Michael is a superb host who allowed us to check out later at no extra costs. The location of the apartment is perfect if you arrive by car (you can also just park it along the street in front of the host's garage) or by public transportation (the city center is less than 15 minutes an easy walk down the street). The apartment is well equipped with everything you need even for a longer stay, it has a wonderful spacious terrace from where you can enjoy the beautiful view over the city and to the main harbor. The Sao Joao do Pico fortress is just around the corner, where you can spend a great Saturday evening during the Atlantic Festival, including an excellent view of the fireworks!

Cons: Everything was great. Just a few details to note for choosing to stay in this apartment: it is on the top floor of the building so be prepared to climb some stairs. You will be walking down steep spiral staircases so it's probably not a best choice for everyone. There is no door separating the bathroom and WC from the bedroom. An air fryer is available in the kitchen but there is no oven.

Fantastic home from home apartment with great views and peaceful surroundings

Pros: Great view, very well equipped. Toiletries supplied. complimentary wine and milk. Hosts on site.

Cons: The property was fantastic but for some people the steep hill to the apt and spiral staircase might be too much. However there is a bus stop and shops just above the apt which are great for access and breakfast etc.
