Barreirinha Funcho House

Pros: Fantastic location! Close to the centre but quiet, no car needed if you only want to explore Funchal. Close to the ocean. The view from the terrace is truly wonderful. This is a spacious authentic apartment and the owners were very helpful.

Cons: Bathroom and kitchen equipment could be newer, but this was no problem for us. Shower is not fixed to the wall.

Pros: Perfect location and very clean, good communication with the owner.

Well equipped accommodation in a fabulous location.

Pros: Amazing location in the beautiful old town with the most wonderful roof terrace with views across the port. Edgar was very flexible and great at communicating. Arrival and departure were easy. Well equipped kitchen and well furnished- would definitely recommend.

Cons: The third downstairs bedroom was a little small for two adults but as we only had one adult in there it was fine, or would suit two children.

Pros: Location was excellent, accommodation was spacious clean and had it all.

Cons: Nothing really. Great place 👌.

Prime location - rooftop view

Pros: Super location close to rocky beach, bars, restaurants, wonderful rooftop area, lovely views, good beds, well-equipped kitchen. Good communication with the host Maria.

Cons: Be prepared for the steep street to walk up or to drive a car. We were there in the hot part of the year...no a.c. but the fan helped. Open all doors for the cool night air

Pros: Perfect apartment, good location, the best view from terrace!

Pros: Accommodation was very comfortable for our family of five adults, spotlessly clean, great communication from host and was met by the lovely Maria who helped us out when we left items at the house. Very much enjoyed the balconies and the rooftop view had spectacular views of the harbour. Very close to walk into Funchal, many restaurants on the way, thoroughly recommend a stay at this property

Cons: Downstairs bathroom needs attention to prevent sewage smell

Pros: Lovely house with great outdoor space. Location is quiet and fantastic being so close to the Old Town and Funchal centre . Off street parking for those that hire a car Would definitely check for availability when we return to Madeira. Paul and Sue

Pros: Maria was amazing - she got us a fan as we found the weather too hot during our visit. The location is fabulous - walking distance to old town

Cons: The parking was a little challenging as we had to back into the space and open and close the gate but not a deal breaker.

Wundervolle Abende auf der Dachterrasse

Pros: Optimale Lage in der Altstadt, fußläufig zum Zentrum, gut ausgestattete Wohnung, drei Schlafzimmer; Highlight ist natürlich die wundervolle, große Dachterrasse mit Blick auf den Hafen; Parkplatz (nicht selbstverständlich in der Altstadt). Freundlicher, hilfsbereite Vermieterin - ermöglichte uns auch länger in der Wohnung zu bleiben (Flugzeit), das machte den Abreisetag entspannend.

Cons: Sanitäre Einrichtung verbesserungsbedürftig (Geruchsbildung Toilette), keine Halterungen für Duschkopf; untere Dusche Abflussprobleme.
