Amazing 12 day stay - great host

Pros: Fabulous location a short walk into Funchal centre. Great 2 bed , 2 bathroom apartment with an amazing host Jose. Superb internet access allowed me to work remotely for several days.

Clean apartment with pool in Funchal

Pros: The property was near some good local restaurants, very quiet area, reasonably convenient for the centre, but uphill walk back! Great for washing and drying clothes. Car parking too

Cons: Both showers were in the bath so not ideal if you have limited mobility. A very slippery mat in the kitchen, no shelves for items in one of the bedrooms.

Spacious apartment with lovely host

Pros: Spacious apartment and very well equipped. Lovely view from the balcony and nice pool. Quiet location but easy access to both new and old Funchal. Very nice host, Jose, who was very accommodating. Would definitely stay again.

Cons: Nothing we didn't like.

Pros: We had a wonderful stay at this apartment! The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. The apartment is in a fantastic location, with everything being just a short distance away. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and the apartment itself is fully equipped with everything you need. It also has its own parking, which is a great bonus. Additionally, the apartment features a beautiful garden and a private pool, which made the stay even more relaxing. Highly recommend!

Great stay with minor issues

Pros: The host Jose is very nice and vent far beyond what to expect, Bought a express coffee pot as one of us had her with, but it was not possible to use there.

Cons: There was a really bad smell in the bathroom by the master bedroom. Jose knew about it and someone has already commented on this on Booking. This needs to be fixed as the owner knows about it. It would have been great to have a little sunshine on the balcony, but it is always possible to sit by the pool

Pros: The facilties were great like the lifts to the rooms and the pool, it even had toilets by the pool to save going back to your room wet

Cons: The only issue was there was a bit of a smell coming from the drains in the bathrooms, not a lot could be done about it I suppose but if I was asked to say something negative about the trip that would be it. Not a reflection on josè as he was an excellent host and the room was more than adequate for our trip, would definitely visit again

Excellent

Pros: Excellent location, great facilities within the apartment and a lovely pool.

Cons: Fan in room was quite small, it was very warm at night.

Excellent apartment in Funchal

Pros: The location was excellent and the apartment had absolutely everything you could need. Jose was a great host.

We would happily return to this area again - a perfect position to explore Funchal from.

Pros: The location is the best in Funchal. A short distance up a minor road so away from all the noise but in easy walking distance to all areas. This is a predominantly residential area so somewhat different to the hotel zone. The pool is a good size although we didn't use it. Two bathrooms were very useful. The apartment and the whole building were nice and clean. Jose was a delightful host. A row of restaurants, cafes and a bakery is a 2 minute walk away, as is a bus stop which runs to the airport. There is a lovely park a few minutes away and a useful shopping mall about 10 minutes walk away with a decent supermarket that sells at normal prices, not inflated tourist prices. The petrol station 3 minutes away also sells beer & water etc. so no need to carry the heavy stuff back up the hill. Excellent all round, thank you Jose.

Stay here

Pros: Excellent location, right at the Santa Catarina Park. Nice outdoor pool, unheated so a bit chilly in winter but ok (and with a kids splashing pool). Very nice host.
