Beautiful app with garage for city break and going around

Pros: Great apartment in the old city, with garrage and very beautiful terrace. Nearby a lot of restaurants, shops, market...We didn't meet the host in person, nevertheless she was very helpful via phone.

Great location and super host

Pros: This property has absolutely everything you would need for any length of stay. The host is super helpful and allowed us to check out just a bit later. Gave us lots of great tips. The location is perfect for easy access to any transport or 2 minutes to the promenade to walk. We even had a free parking bay to use. The views from the balcony were beautiful of the old city.

Cons: Initially the construction work surrounding the property was disturbing but we soon realized this is only during the day so we made sure we were back after 7 to avoid the noise. Be prepared to walk up 4 storey steps.

Highly recommended.

Pros: The apartment was comfortable, beautifully decorated, and colorful. The location was perfect: we had great restaurants, shops, and the sea with free swimming spots right next door.

We had a wonderful stay here. It’s a brilliant location and the apartment is wonderful.

Pros: Fantastic location and the apartment is a real home from home. Spacious, with lovely touches and the balcony was very large. Sofia was a great host with lots of useful recommendations and very kind.

A good break made even better by our host.

Pros: We were given a full walk through of the property and left a manual telling us useful information. We were also given a list of restaurants to try which was above and beyond what we could expect.

A wonderful location. most helpful host and great apartment. Don't be put off by the few negatives.

Pros: It is difficult to rate this property. The host was superb, one of the most helpful we have experienced in our many breaks. There was nothing that Sophia wouldn't do or offer to do during our stay. We had an outstanding 4x4 tour with Sophia's husband which we highly recommend. The apartment has plenty of room and is well equipped. Inside is like a small art museum, tastefully done. Good sized terrace overlooking Funchal town all the way up to the mountains. If you are looking for a place in the middle of the old town this is for you. Countless restaurants/bars within a five minute walk, bus station across the road and just beyond there is the sea front and promenade.

Cons: This is why it is difficult to rate. The apartment is on the third floor and the lift has not worked for many years. 65 steps! The terrace faces due north and so in January there is hardly any sun. This will probably change as the the days lengthen. We suggested to Sofia that a BBQ on the terrace would have been a bonus and it is something she is planning. Sofia is also trying to get shared funding from the other apartments to repair the lift and so some of these negatives may no longer apply in the future. These are relatively minor points, but worth mentioning.

Great apartment in the best location.

Pros: The apartment is very a very spacious two bed in the heart of Funchal with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The host was very welcoming and helpful. Views of the City are wonderful from the balcony where you can sit and relax or eat with your family. Everything is close by including the Old Town, restaurants, public transport and cable car. We had an excellent stay and would return when next in Madeira.

Cons: The one small caution would be that the apartment is accessed by flights of stairs which may be difficult for people of limited mobility although this was not a problem for us.

Amazing place, beautiful decorated with really beautifuuul view over the city

Pros: Everything was great. The apartament is really close to the center, with an amazing view, clean and really cool decorated. Also Sofia was really really friendly, helped us with transfer and left us some amazing places to visit. Would totally come back here ❤️

Pros: The location couldn’t be better. Next to the popular areas for food and drinks but without the noise. Close to the sea, bus station, cable car and market. PERFECT. The vibe of the apartment was really cool with a great balcony with views of the moutain and cable car, as well as a hand painted feature wall for some cool pictures. Sofia was so helpful from the moment we booked providing lots of recommendations as well as the options to book hiking or canyoning trips through their other business too.

Cons: Fans were provided which helped manage the heat at night but if it was any hotter I think an air con unit would be a great addition :)

Perfect place in the old centre

Pros: Wonderful apartment in the old center of Funchal. Very stylish decorated and everything you need at hand. Nice large teras at the back to relax and overlooking the city. Parking was close. Sofia was very helpful if we had any questions and also gave us many tips for restaurants. We are now a great fan of the Portuguese kitchen.
