Very nice.

Pros: Good location, nice size apartment, comfortable bed, very efficient double glazing.

Cons: Very noisy - the cars on the cobblestones make a din and there is a skate park opposite, plus late-night revellers outside, so the double glazing is essential to keep the noise out. The door to the apartment and to the bathroom are difficult to open and close due to draught excluder being fitted, meaning they need a slam and they are very noisy when opening or closing at night. The kitchen is odd, because it is well equipped, but there is not much in the way of crockery or cutlery - only one tea spoon, only two mugs for tea, and no bowls for breakfast cereal, plus, the sink plug is broken which makes washing-up difficult. Be aware that Whatsapp is necessary to gain entry; I booked the stay but have no idea what Whatsapp is, so had to let my wife deal with it. Any older person travelling who does not understand all of this nonsense will not gain access to the apartment.

Pros: The location was the best thing about it. In the old town, opposite the cable car and the bus station, within walking distance of the market and surrounded by great bars and restaurants.

Cons: The light at the top of the stairs didn't work so it was a bit scary negotiating the steps in the dark. The apartment could have been a bit cleaner and a bit better equipped. We like to cook while we are away and it was a little difficult

Pros: Superb location! Could see the cable cars from our window. Central spot in old town so everything you could possibly need is a short walk away. Fantastic sound proofing too so you still get a restful nights sleep. Host was wonderful and super accommodating too

Funchal central apartment

Pros: I loved being so close to everything. The apartment had everything I needed for a few days. For one person it was very adequate I was there for the European athletics. It was great being so central as an easy walk for the team bus The host Marco was excellent, responding to any queries I had immediately and a very easy check in system.

Cons: It was very dark unless the shutters were wide open although I couldn't open the kitchen one without standing on a chair. It would have been nice to have a bedside lamp. If 2 people were staying a couple more mugs and glasses would be welcome but for me on my own it was fine. It was very noisy at night with people, music and motorbikes. I had to sleep with the windows shut to dim the noise.

Great location, lovely flat

Pros: The flat was in an excellent location near the sea and promenade and in the old town, lots of nice restaurants nearby. Was great having a kitchen, the owner was quick to reply to any queries and gave advice.

despite any small inconveniences it was a pleasant stay, the host was helpful and easy to reach
