Ribeira Funchal Center

Pros: Great location, and really nice to have an apartment in the city to base yourself. Very clean, few little niggles (door handle fell off) but nothing major at all.

Cons: It was really warm in the apartment, the AC unit was great but I turned off at night as wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to keep on, so a little warm.

I had a wonderful stay - RFC is the perfect place for those who want to be at the heart of the city.

Pros: The location is excellent, very central and within walking distance of everything in downtown Funchal. The apartment was very clean and had all the necessary facilities. Although the apartment is located in a busy street, the bedroom is really quiet. A bonus for me was that Fabrica Santo Antonio, the famous Madeiran cookie factory with its beautiful fairytale-like shop, is right across the street. Not to be missed by those who have a sweet tooth. Also, I would like to say a big thank you to my hosts, Beatriz and Miguel, who were very helpful from the very beginning, and assisted me in unexpected (health-related) situations. In addition, it was very kind of Beatriz to book a taxi for me on the last day of my stay.

Cons: The apartment has no elevator and baggage has to be dragged up the stairs, which may be an inconvenience if you are not travelling light.

Pros: The property was comfortable and within walking distance to many restaurants, eateries and shopping, and some historical sites

Cons: The weather was vey hot and I could not get the air conditioner to cool the apartment properly. However, there was a fan in the bedroom which helped.

Pros: La ubicación está muy bien, en el centro de Funchal a pocos minutos andando de cualquier lugar. El parking se encuentra a pocos minutos del alojamiento por lo es de agradecer ya que en la zona no es fácil aparcar. La anfitriona Beatriz estuvo muy atenta en todo momento.

Cons: La única pega que se podría poner es que hacía mucho calor. La anfitriona Beatriz ya nos informó que se había roto el aire acondicionado. Aunque colocaron otro, cuando estaba funcionado, el aire frío no llegaba a la habitación.

Pros: Close to the Funchal city center and very convenient that it had a parking spot!

Cons: The directions for the parking spot could've been a little clearer but in the end the host was more than helpful in helping us find it!

Tolle Ausgangslage für die Erkundung Funchals.

Pros: Die Wohnung ist so gelegen, dass wirklich ALLES in Funchal zu Fuß erreicht werden kann. Zu der Wohnung gehört ein privater Parkplatz, auf dem wir unseren Mietwagen sicher abstellen konnten und der nur wenige Gehminuten von der Wohnung entfernt liegt. Auch ein guter Supermarkt ist in 5 Minuten erreichbar. Es gab in allen Räumen viele Steckdosen. Es gibt eine gute und neue Waschmaschine.

Cons: Der Standard des Badezimmers war nicht sehr hoch: Es gibt keine Steckdose am Spiegel. Der Bereich Waschbecken und Toilette war sehr eng. Bei den Betten handelt es sich um zwei Einzelbetten, die man nicht zusammenschieben kann. Die Lampen waren in allen Räumen sehr grell und erinnerten an Büroräume oder eine Arztpraxis. In der Küche fehlt leider ein Backofen (nix Pizza), es gibt nur eine Mikrowelle.

Pros: Sauber, unkompliziert mit Schlüsselkasten, gute Lage im Zentrum von Funchal. Kann ich gerne weiter empfehlen.

Pros: Fajny apartament w centrum historycznym Funchal, wszędzie blisko. Możliwość bezpłatnego parkowania samochodu na parkingu ok. 5min od apartamentu.

Cons: Klimatyzacja stoi przy wejściu - nie da się jej przestawić do sypialni przez co było bardzo gorąco i duszno w apartamencie (trafiliśmy na bardzo wysokie temperatury na Maderze). Łazience przydałby się remont.
