A great location from which to tour the island and get up into the mountains for walking.

Pros: The location, quiet! It was good to be able to park the car in the garage every night - safe and directly on the property. Strong internet and a workspace (had some work to do while away). Great views from the bedroom balconies in the morning!

Cons: This is being picky and didn't detract from our holiday - the fridge wobbled!

The property offers breathtaking views and love!

Pros: The property offers a breath-taking view of the sea and a beautiful garden where you can enjoy both sunrise and sunset. It’s the perfect spot to relax in the morning or afternoon. Our host was amazing; always available on WhatsApp to assist and answer any questions. She was incredibly kind and caring, making us feel as if we were living in the same home. We truly felt at home. We visited during the Christmas period, and she thoughtfully prepared a Christmas tree for us and left a selection of wines, including red wine and a local sweet variety. It was such a warm gesture. We would definitely return to this place in the future. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for cooking and storing food. I highly recommend this property if you’re looking for a few days of peace and quiet, surrounded by stunning sea views and beautiful nature. We already miss it!

Great pick for Calheta!

Pros: Great location, beautiful views all around the house. Lot’s of spots to sit outside. We loved the outdoor kitchen. Having your personal parking space in Madeira is also a plus.

Cons: Downstairs is a bit dark. Would have loved a mosquito net above the bed. And although the people welcoming you are lovely it is a bit inconvenient that someone personally handles the keys (compared to a key lock) when you are only staying for a few days.

Pros: This is an old traditional Madeiran villa, a large house with 4 bedrooms. Madeira is very mountainous and the villa is up on the mountain and so has excellent views. This is what we liked: very clean beautiful well kept small tiered garden very good property manager/ host - good communication throughout. welcome wine, cookies, tote bag Excellent view over the ocean Very good washing machine lots of crockery and cutlery - well stocked kitchen coffee and tea and salt and spices are included toweling gowns sun loungers on the roof terrace barbeque facilities off street parking in an automatic lock up garage

Pros: The house is very well appointed immaculately clean and has the best selection of glasses and crockery. The garden is beautiful with lots of flowering plant's. The barbecue terrace is a lovely suntrap. There was only 2 of us staying here but it's a very large house easily accommodating larger groups 3 double bedrooms plus 2 single bed's plus a sitting area lounge upstairs. A lovely family home.

Cons: The location as we didn't hire a car it was a long steep walk down to the marina beach... The garden furniture chairs on the grass were dangerous you tipped forward off them. No sun loungers

We came for ocean fishing, stayed with two couples and it was wonderful, enough private space, bathrooms, well maintaine

Pros: The beautiful house, plenty of space, well maintained house, stunning ocean view, perfect location to Calheta marina, convenient parking and of course the wonderful hospitality of the host Cecilia.

Cons: Nothing to mention. We wished we could stay longer and had a chance to use the nice barbecue place.

Pros: Huge house with beautiful territory: terrace, barbecue zone, etc. Amazing ocean view. Very friendly host and staff. There was water and cookies.

Cons: Coffee was only for 1 day. No detergent. Also, I didn't find a hair conditioner

Best place to explore the island

Pros: Huge authentic house with an awesome view on the ocean. Nice garden, barbecue facility and garage under the house. Enjoyable stairs to the beach via the banana plantation. Cecília is a very helpful and kind host. Definitely will come back..

Beautiful welcoming home with fabulous views.

Pros: Fabulous house with lots of space and beautiful views. Very well equipped. Toiletries were provided ad well as some welcome treats! The house has private garage parking.

Lovely home with sea views and parking place. Ideal for families.

Pros: Beautiful home with lovely views and garage for a car. BBQ facilities and small garden very nice. Staff were super friendly and helpful. A lovely place for self catering. Evenings are lovely with the view.

Cons: If you are many people then there is only 1 bathroom with a shower and 1 with a bath and hose. But we managed ok. We were there in very hot weather so will probably look for a pool next time.
