Hugo was an excellent host, couldn't have more helpful.

Pros: Excellent location - easy waiking distance to the old and new town. Very comfortable large bed, good water pressure for an excellent shower Hugo picked us up and dropped us off at the airport which was a real bonus

Cons: Although there was a coffee maker we would have much preferred an expresso / pod machine.

Pros: We loved everything about our stay! The house is very beautiful, stylish, spacious, and perfectly located. It has everything you may need for a comfortable stay. Hugo is an amazing host – he picked us up from the airport, welcomed us with a basket of delicious local products, and gave us a detailed map of Madeira with wonderful recommendations on what to see and where to eat. Special thanks for the advice about the local cheese and fruit shops – it was fantastic. Highly recommended ☺️

One of the best experiences so far

Pros: We’ve had an outstanding stay. We travel 4-5 times year and this was the beat in years. Hugo has been a fantastic host, truly one of the best we've ever had. Besides offering to pick us up from the airport, he made sure we had a detailed introduction to Madeira. He spent almost an hour with us, explaining everything we needed to know about the island: its food, culture, must-see sights and many other helpful tips and tricks. The house was immaculately clean, in a quiet area about a 15-minute walk from the city center. The kitchen was fully equipped. There was a washing machine, air conditioning and two bathrooms. We’re so glad we picked this place, as it made our trip to Madeira even more pleasant.

Cons: There was nothing to dislike :)

The perfect place to stay in Funchal

Pros: We had a wonderful month in Funchal. The owner of the accommodation, Hugo, was very helpful. He picked us up from the airport. He also set up a basket of local produce, such as fruit and sweet snacks, in the apartment. He showed us the local area, including the bakery, the garden a short walk from the apartment and the car rental shop on the street corner. The apartment is fully furnished. The Sé Cathedral, shopping malls, the Mercado dos Lavradores market, the port, the Zona Velha area, the cable car to Monte and the Barreirinha swimming pool are all within walking distance. We also had free access to the Funchal swimming pools, which was a bonus from Hugo. We can only recommend it.

First time we have visited Madeira and what a brilliant place to stay. Could not fault it

Pros: Everything, an absolute gem, very spacious, clean with everything you need. The owner Hugo is an amazing person giving us loads of info and advice for our stay he picked us up from the airport and took us to the apartment as a gift. The location is just a 5 minute walk into town, perfect.

Cons: Nothing to dislike

Luxury accommodation, generous host, all in walking distance of the old town of Funchal

Pros: We were met at the airport, and dropped off at the accommodation. Hugo was waiting for us, and spent time showing us around, answering any questions we had and helping us navigate the island. We loved the flow of the house, and particularly the patio area with the sliding doors in the middle. Hugo was a very generous and kind host.

Cons: Would have liked a coffee machine (personal preference), or access to coffee/tea and general condiments e.g. pepper, salt. Overall we had no negative feedback about the accommodation.

Pros: We loved to stay at the Casa Da Avo lately. As promised our landlord Hugo picked us p at the airport to take us to our holiday home. For the course of our stay Hugo provided us with all sorts of helpful advice on local restauraunts, sights and more on a daily basis. Casa Da Avo is located conveniently close to the city center of Funchal. No rental car needed to explore the city and the vicinity but if you need one you' ll find Automo Rental just around the corner. They offer 10% off on Hugo's promocode. But beware driving and above all parking your car in Funchal will be a challenge of their own. We found the modern interior of Casa da Avo to be designed expertly. Pros: We lovely absolutely everything! Hugo was super friendly, provided loads of information what to do and see in the island. The place is very nicely designed, spacious, every details are very well planned, very big bed and nice small place to sit outside. Highly recommend if you want to have an amazing stay in Funchal!
