Would stay again if returning & recommend to family & friends🙂

Pros: We have no hesitation in recommending ‘Casa Da Avo Clementina’. A beautiful house lovingly restored & in keeping with remembering Hugo the owners’s Grandmother. Everything you require is available to you & spotlessy clean. Just a few minutes walk from the centre of Funchal with lovely bakery/cafe closeby. On a quiet side street so no issue with any noise during the night. The owner, Hugo, is so accommodating & always available should you be in need of anything. He kindly offers to collect you from the airport & leaves some food & water/wine to help you in settling in. Gives you a lot of information about the area & best ways of travelling etc.. One of the nicest we have stayed in.

Amazing host, everything was perfect and convenient

Pros: Awesome handmade map, very insightful recommendation ! He also came to pick us up at the airport, a truly nice person, I recommend 10 times!

Pros: What more can I say which hasn't already been mentioned. Hugo was such a gentleman, taking care of us from the very beginning until the moment we left. The house is so wonderful, it has everything, location, cleanliness, all that you need. Hugo made our stay in Funchal very special. Thanks for everything.

An absolute gem

Pros: Hugo the owner was incredibly generous with his time and knowledge of the island. Nothing is too much trouble for him and I would not hesitate to stay here in the future. It was a first class experience from beginning to end. Thanks Hugo!

A full 10 out of 10 score from us. Perfect Property, Perfect Location, Perfect Holiday

Pros: We liked everything about this apartment! The beds were very comfortable, it was spotless, had everything you needed including a washing machine. We particularly liked the location which was walking distance to all of the main sights in the old town. Our host, Hugo, was absolutely the best host we have ever had. He collected us from the airport, gave helpful and useful advice on everything. Can't be faulted! Would definitely recommend - and he has another nearby property for more people which looks stunning. Madeira has something for everyone and we loved it! We would recommend hiring a car if you're staying a bit longer (we were there for a week). Drivers are courteous and polite on the whole.

Cons: There is nothing about this property we didn't like. A perfect base for exploring, which we did a lot of!

Excellent.

Pros: Excellent location. Three minutes walk from a bakery, 12 mins from a supermarket. Some nice restaurants around. Close to the bus stops.

A memorable Madeira trip

Pros: The communication: Hugo the owner of the house is a very welcoming person, explains and suggests what to visit, where to eat, where to rent a car, where to and not park. He was in contact with us almost every day, asking if all was fine. Kindness: Hugo picked us up and dropped us at the airport, welcomed us with so many gifts ( exotic fruits from Madeira, wine, chocolates). He arranged a tourist guide. House: as described. All what you need is there. Although we stayed only 8 nights, Hugo arranged the cleaning. It is situated near everything (buses, shops). Hugo will hand you a map and will explain what's best to visit. We really can't complain. We have enjoyed staying here and are recommending you too. Hugo speaks English so don't be skeptical. Thanks Hugo for making our trip comfortable 🙂 🤗 🙏

Pros: Our friendly host was always available to help. We liked the quiet courtyard, and the comfortable, clean apartment. Location was quiet and a short walk to the city centre.

Lovely flat and amazing host

Pros: Hugo was an amazing host, gave us so much useful information about the area and responses super quickly to any questions we had throughout our stay. The flat was well decorated and had everything we could need, plus was in an excellent location to access the city
