Garden House

A beautiful house. Goegious views. Well equipped. Lovely hosts.

Pros: I particularly liked that the host met us on arrival to show us the property and answer our questions. The gifts of biscuits, sweeties, oranges and Madeira wine were really lovely!

Cons: The hill on which the house is located is very steep. This was fine for us but might be difficult for some people.

Pros: The house was lovely. Spacious and nicely furnished. It was equipped with everything we needed to make us feel at home. The location of Garden House in a quiet residential area with views over Funchal was ideal for us. I would recommend that anyone planning to stay there get a hire car from the airport for the duration of their stay. It makes day to day travel easy and allows you to explore the island, which I recommend. Parking isn't a problem on the road outside or on the driveway. Worthy of particular praise are the owners Mara & Carlos. From the time the booking was made to the time we returned home they were in contact with tips and advice. They met us after the house on our arrival and departure and kept in contact to make sure there were no problems.

Cons: We had no complaints. It suited our requirements perfectly at that time of year. Things to bear in mind. There is no air conditioning (fans are provided) so could be hot at night during higher temperatures. Streets are steep and property is a distance from the centre of Funchal. If you don't want to hire a car, taxi's and buses are available but taxis are expensive.

Your best choice

Pros: This property is amazing! Real authentic house with amazing views and all the amenities that you need. However this is not even the best part about this property. The best part are the owners, Mara and Carlos , that take hospitality to another level. This are the warmest people that I have ever met as hosts and last year my family has been to 20 countries. Always available, always giving the extra mile… and not to spoil the surprise but you will get some Madeiran gifts. Really 1000/10

Wonderful vacation on Madeira

Pros: We stayed nearly 2 weeks in the Garden House and enjoyed it a lot. The house is spacious, very well equiped and absolutely clean. It has also a seperated barbeque place and enuough places for parking. The view to the seaside and Funchal is amazing. Is ist situated in a wonderful area 1 minute from the botanical garden and the three buslines to Funchal. We also would like to thank Mara and Carlos for their hospality. The both are such nice and wonderful persons. I can absolutly recommend the Garden House and we want to come back.

Pros: The view over Funchal was truly wonderful, offering breathtaking sights every morning and evening. The house itself is perfectly located, making it convenient to explore the city and surrounding areas. Inside, the house is fully equipped and incredibly well-suited for a comfortable vacation. Every detail seemed to be thought of, which made our week-long stay so enjoyable. A special mention must go to our very welcoming hosts. They were incredibly kind, helpful, do their best to let you enjoy your vacation and provided us with many useful tips that enhanced our experience in Funchal. In a few words, we genuinely loved our stay and would highly recommend this fantastic vacation rental!

Pros: This place exceeded all our expectations. Hospitality. We were met as dear guests with food, wine and gifts from Madeira. Host provided detailed information to help our arrival and stay in Madeira. Amazing property with stunning view. It has everything you can think of, including real wood BBQ. Convenient parking - this is very important in Madeira. We were very pleased with the stay.

Amazing stay in Garden House, Funchal

Pros: The views from the lovely house was amazing. Everything was beyond expectations and we had a great week in the beautiful city of Funchal. The house is very close to the bus that takes you to the city in no time. Mara and Carlos were amazing hosts, and was always ready to help. Such lovely people, who even got us a gift when we arrived, with local food. Thank you so much for a great stay in Garden House 👏

Pros: The house is just a dream. You have everything there, it is spotless, the garden is the best place to relax and enjoy the views over the ocean. You can easily drive to Funchal, but there is also a good bus connection (once you figured out how the time tables work 😉). You can park your car next to the house. Mara and Carlos are the best hosts, they provide you with all the information you need and and have wonderful tips. They are always available if you need something. We had a perfect stay and could really recommend this place. Thanks for everything!

A perfect holiday on a beautiful island and Garden House as a perfect location to stay.

Pros: Garden House is a beautifully located house with all the facilities we needed. Mara and Carlos pay a lot of attention to their guests and give tips about restaurants, locations to visit and much more. All in all we are very satisfied with our stay at Garden house.
