Mountain View Cottage

Pros: Everything was perfect! We wish we could have stayed longer.

Cons: All great!

Perfect in Every Way

Pros: Lovely property in a beautiful and quiet location. Ana made us very welcome and we will definitely book again, if we get the chance to return to Madeira. Edit - I forgot to mention Ana's kind understanding with respect to our 24 hour late arrival, which resulted from our flight being diverted to Lanzarote due to Funchal airport's famously challenging winds.

Amazing experience and very nice cottage with a view to the mountains and nice terrace.

Pros: Mountain View Cottage was absolutely charming! Ana Maria met us in the garden, showed everything around the house, told all the rules, was very nice and kind. There were lots of Madeira travel books to explore, but Ana Maria also gave some hints and ideas. I absolutely recommend this place and would return one day, too.

Cons: I loved everything in the cottage except the rain clouds with rain which is out of any hosts scope and possibilities. :)

Exceptional location

Pros: The hostess was helpful and kind. The location exceeded our expectations. Surrounded by mountains and clouds above, the view from the cottage is breathtaking. Tranquility of the place is so relaxing that it seems the time stops here. The house was spotless and had all amenities necessary for an enjoyable stay. The dinners at the restaurant ( a 2 minute walk from the cottage) were really delicious. When I come next time, I will stay here much longer.

Nice and cozy

Pros: Beautiful scenery. The host was amazing, helpful and very insightful. Definitely added to my experience here in Madeira😄

An excellent small cottage

Pros: Good location Very quiet Not clean, ULTRA clean Very well equipped Empathic owner

Cons: More electric plugs for electronic devices charging

Cozy cottage

Pros: The host was very friendly and the surroundings were nice. The cottage was clean and cozy and had everything we needed

Incredible stay and hospitality

Pros: Ana Maria the host was incredibly helpful and generous. The cottage is gorgeous and I was sad I had only booked it for 3 nights. I highly recommend

Pleasant stay in rural Madeira

Pros: The cottage is located in a very quiet village, amid majestic mountains. In the night you only hear birds and the wind and that really helps to charge the batteries after long day spent on exploring the island. The house itself offers everything that is needed for a vacation stay including well equipped kitchen, 1 1/2 baths, loundry room and bedroom upstairs with a very comfy bed and a nice balcony (which we unfortunately did not use a lot due to moody weather). I higly reccomend taking the time to explore the village and walking to the nearby cascata poço do candeeiro.

Cons: Nearest shops and restaurants are in Seixal, which you can only reach by car via a wanding road, so better make any errands when coming back from day trips.

Picturesque location but some damp weather

Pros: The location is spectacular. The cottage has a great rustic vibe mixed with modern renovations. Half bathroom upstairs with the bedroom is great considering how small the cottage is. Can't beat walking out of the bedroom and directly on the balcony when the sun is out and the mountains surrounding you. Ana is a top notch host as well, very friendly and helpful.

Cons: Our stay in the mountains was beautiful, but the rainy weather—likely due to the higher elevation and time of year—made it challenging to fully enjoy the surroundings. The cottage would greatly benefit from a covered outdoor area, allowing guests to take in the views even when it’s wet. Additionally, the lack of windows limits natural light, and the bright white lighting inside could be replaced with warmer tones to create a cozier atmosphere.
