Pestana Quinta do Arco Nature & Rose Garden Hotel

only stayed one night but would be happy to spend a lot more time here.

Pros: we (3 adult females) thought this was a little bit of paradise. quiet, not overlooked, surrounded by plants. greeted by a lovely happy lady on arrival. room had everything we needed - kitchenette fab if preparing simpler meals, bathroom was large, clean and lovely to use. communications before arrival were good. car parking was accessible and there were spaces when we arrived. room was clean. pool looked lovely but unfortunately too cold to try! restaurant for breakfast was 2/3 mins walk, for some this may be an issue but we didn't mind - brekky was a wonderful spread buffet style. we also ate there in the evening and would highly recommend the menu, food and attentive staff.

Cons: downgraded cleanliness due to the musty/damp smell in the room and on sofa bed. downgraded comfort due to sofa bed being uncomfortable and noisy and only had 1 pillow. we had issues each time we tried to open front door - we always got there but not before trying the key in every which way - we were obviously missing something? ;) hairdryer was rather pathetic in its power.

Pros: The kindness of the receptionnist, the beauty of the place, the garden, flowers and the view. My little house was so lovely, with a fire pit, very cosy and warm. Wonderful place to come for a affordable price.

Pros: We really loved the gardens, the view, breakfast, vibes, privacy and wonderful staff. Value for Money awesome, but prices vary. I want to emphasize that the recent negative feedback in booking to my mind is exaggerated. These are well equipped bungalows, some older, located on the atlantic coast in Portugal. It will be cold in Winter, and somewhat colder/not well heated indoors. We really enjoyed the stay. The newer buildings are really nice, the the older ones are fine too. View is Even better.

Pros: Beautiful location and peaceful place. A great base to ecplore. Breakfast is good.

Cons: The villa needs refurbishment. Drains run along outsude villa walls causing dampness inside.

Pros: An exceptionally quiet refuge in nature. I warmly recommend it for an escape from noise and busyness. Breathtaking mountain views. The house was comfortable, clean, had everything needed for a nice stay. Special thanks for a wonderful breakfast!

Lovely bungalows surrounded by a wonderful garden

Pros: Lovely place, bungalows in a lush garden, nature all around. Very beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Very good breakfast.

Beautiful stay in a quaint village

Pros: Our favourite stay in Madeira by far. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The accommodation itself is beautiful as the rooms are surrounded by well kept gardens. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed both.

Cons: Nothing, I can’t fault the hotel at all.

Lovely location to stay; not updated or super comfortable, but the beauty made up for it

Pros: I loved the breakfast every morning. High quality food and excellent staff. And the location is so beautiful! I felt like we were living in a botanical garden with a bonus rose garden. The pool was clean and pleasant to swim in even in October!

Cons: For the price we paid, I found the actual house a bit dingy with poor lighting. The beds were uncomfortable and there was animal noise on the roof at night (cats? Mice?)

Definitely recommended, beautiful and quiet surrounding, felt like living in a flowery garden.

Pros: The staff was super friendly, always willing to help and even provide advice on activities nearby the place/tips for levadas. The place is tranquil, it felt like spending time in a tropical paradise (which was even more noticeable right in Pestana Quinta), there are flowers everywhere, so you basically end up spending your time in one flowery garden. We had a newly renovated bungalow (number 3) and almost immediately fall asleep :-) Breakfast is served in a nearby restaurant with a wide selection (and tasty sponge cakes), parking is included. It was a nice stay in a quiet yet beautiful place. Highly recommend.

Cons: The only thing to possibly mention is the bungalow interior - beds were comfy, yet the furniture might have been newer (given a fact that the bungalow was renovated). But this is just a minor thing.

Pros: Lovely location in the gardens, pool was nice, good shower

Cons: Sofa bed was a bit rickety, but otherwise comfortable
