Beautiful stay in Funchal

Pros: We enjoyed our stay in the apartment very much. The flat was very comfortable, clean, well equipped and the localisation was perfect to wander around to the city centre. Also, the shopping center was just down the street with all the helpful services. The instructions sent by the owner to get into the apartment was very clear. A parking spot available was really helpful too as we had a rental car.

Cons: The only drawback (much more benefits than drawbacks) was the lack of dish soap, shower gel or even detergent for the washing machine.

Pros: Great communication from the host about check in. Early check in and check out. Spotlessly clean on arrival. Easy access to the shops. Perfect location to enjoy the old town, sea front and local restaurants. Great value for money. Thank you

Amazing location, comfort and size

Pros: Amazing location and size of apartment. We came for the flower festival and the location was close to all the events. Right next door to a mall with supermarket, and pharmacy, food outlets. Very close to the sea front and walking distance to cable car, farmers market etc. Safe at night. Well sound proofed. Large, well equipped kitchen. Separate laundry room. Comfy bed. Even the sofa bed was comfy. Fresh, good quality bedding. Bright and airy rooms, large patio doors in each room. Plenty of seating. Comfy sofa, armchair and several dining chairs. Powerful shower. Would book this apartment again. Host was very helpful with good communication by whatsapp. I thoroughly recommend this apartment . You can’t beat the size, facilities and location. I didn’t see any other supermarket in the area, so very glad to be next to the one in the mall.

Cons: No view to speak of, all windows look out onto the back of the mall and the back of the other apartment block, which is fine as we were out all day and you have to consider we were in the heart of town. The bathroom had no window, hence was poorly ventilated and smelt damp all the time. A powerful extractor fan may help. The shower was almost like a wet room with a curtain around it so if not careful, the floor gets very wet. Quality of towels was poor, they were a bit thin. But the positives make up for these drawbacks.

Pleasant stay

Pros: Location, parking (but paid), comfortable and silent.

Cons: The curtains don't completely black the room, so if you are affected by it in your sleep, it is something you should be aware of. The fridge needs to be repaired/ replaced because it forms ice inside it freezing the goods if placed near the rear. Still, it was a pleasant stay.

Pros: The location is perfect. Close to the old town, to the port, to shops and restaurants. The bed is very comfortable. The apartment is very clean. The apartment overlooks the inner part of the mall, where the air conditioners work continuously. This raises the noise level. But the sound insulation of the windows is good and when the windows are closed the noise is not heard.

Cons: The bathroom is spacious, but the shower cabin is very narrow. Hot water is uncontrollable - it's either hot or cold. For this reason, bathing is unpleasant. I appreciate the availability of a washing machine and dishwasher, but it would be great if there was a minimal amount of detergent and a few tablets for dishwashing liquid. Minimal amounts of oils and vinegar would contribute to an excellent rating. We left the products we bought to the next tourists.

Short trip to funchal

Pros: Perfect location. Nice, quiet apartment. Had all of the amenities we needed.

Funchal apartment

Pros: A great central apartment in Funchal. Comunication with the owner was super easy and great information on access to the apartment. The apartment looks new and spotlessly clean. The air conditioning worked a treat during the heatwave. Bed was very comfortable and my children said the sofa bed was comfy too. The apartment is above a shopping centre with taxis, coffee shop and restaurant all on the door stop.

Pros: Location was quiet convenient with public transport and with car. Optional parking was nice. Checking in and out was contactless, the owner was easy to reach on whatsapp. Fully equipped kitchen, clean apartman. Perfect for staying with a 2 year old.

Cons: View from the windows. :)

Home feeling apartment in centric place in Funchal

Pros: The apartment is spacious and it has all amenities required for a holiday home. It felt actually like a real home. The location is close to main highlights.

Cons: The apartment is interior and above a mall, so not so much light, not a great view. There is no free parking anywhere close so you really need the extra parking space which it comes at a cost of 8 euros.
