Superb apartment with very kind host - highly recommended

Pros: An immaculately clean, spacious and superbly equipped property. Maria greeted us on arrival to show us round, and responded immediately to the odd question we had via WhatsApp. The terrace outside was beautiful for eating, sun-bathing, and BBQing in privacy - there was also a jacuzzi, but we didn't try it. The roof terrace provided a panoramic view of Funchal and its harbour while drinking a tipple and waiting for the sun to go down.

Truly a home away from home

Pros: Even before the stay, the information you get from the host is timely and on point. And from the moment you arrive, you truly feel like a guest and not one of a thousand visitors. Maria is an amazing host — helpful, cordial and kind, it's truly a pleasure talking and dealing with her. Not to mention the little surprise treats and very useful local tips. The property is an isolated part of the host's home. It's a private space with access to a beautiful patio and a roof terrace with an amazing view over Funchal. The large bedroom is in the basement and there is a small sitting room with a kitchen on the patio level. Everything is designed and decorated with amazing taste, fully furnished with modern equipment and all the kitchen utensils, spotlessly clean and 100% ready for a very comfortable stay.

Cons: I can't remember when I was so happy with a private stay!

A jewel in Funchal

Pros: Beautiful property, beautiful maintained, with lots of attention to detail & real home comforts. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in & the terrace the perfect place to eat & relax. Maria’s communication was excellent, she is a very kind, caring host. I would highly recommend anyone who is planning a trip to Funchal to book NOW. One tiny thing. The hill on the way home is a little steep, my husband & are are both well into our 50’s & not the fittest but we managed fine, some less able bodied folk might find it a challenge. HOWEVER, taxis & Ubers are cheap & plentiful so please don’t let this minor detail change your minds. If you are lucky enough to stay here, I hope you have as happy a time as we did.

Cons: Nothing, it was perfect.

Pros: We had a wonderful stay in Funchal. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and had everything you need for a short or long stay. We really loved the garden, very peaceful with beautiful flowers. The accomadion is very convenient, very close to old town, teleferic and local market/ supermarket.Also, there is a nice beach, easily accesible Praia da Barreirinha. We hope to return to this beautiful accomodation.Our host was very kind and helpful. Thank you, Maria!

Pros: The place was exactly as described – clean, comfortable, and very well located. Maria was extremely friendly and responsive, always available if I had any questions. The check-in process was smooth, and I felt right at home during my entire stay. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Perfection would come back

Pros: Lovely kept, very big and comfortable. We had the whole place to ourselves. Much bigger than expected.

Pros: We spent a wonderful 10 days in the apartment. This was largely due to Mrs. Maria who is a very nice, polite and very helpful woman. If there is only such an opportunity, we will definitely come back here. Madeira as Madeira is beautiful and amazing. I recommend CHC Rochinia to everyone as a place where you can spend pleasant moments in peace and quiet and which is located 300m from the city center (port, promenade, shops and restaurants, gardens and many other attractions). 0 - 5 points. Location - 4.9 (quite a steep climb of 120m which may be uncomfortable for the picky) Cleanliness - 5 Equipment - 5 Owner - 6

Beautiful Apartment!

Pros: Very clean and comfortable stay, well-equipped kitchen, 10-minute stroll to the old town, very responsive host. Madeira is a beautiful island - good for hiking!

Cons: Nothing but it would be twin beds - but I knew that when I booked the apartment.

Pros: Невероятно внимательная и приятная хозяйка Мария. Терраса очень уютная, с маленьким огородом, на которой есть лежаки, гриль и джакузи. А так же с террасы выход на балкон наверху. Уютные апартаменты. Кухня полноценная. Все продумано до мелочей. Есть все и даже больше :)

Cons: Тем, кому сложно много ходить и с перепадами высот, будет тяжеловато. К жилью подъем под уклоном. В самом жилье есть лестницы. Но для тех, кто любит нагрузку, будет как раз :)
