Apartamentos Fernão de Ornelas by Heart of Funchal

Fantastic stay in a perfect location!

Pros: We truly enjoyed our stay here. The location couldn’t have been better: right on a lively shopping street in the heart of the city center, yet it was quiet when the windows were closed. Everything was within easy walking distance: the old town, the sea, and so many lovely restaurants and cafés. It made exploring the area incredibly easy and enjoyable. The apartment was very comfortable and spotless on arrival. It had everything we needed for a relaxing and convenient stay, and it immediately felt like a great place to come back to after a day out. Communication with the Heart of Funchal team was friendly, clear, and efficient, which made the whole experience smooth from start to finish.

Cons: The only downside which was outside the control of the Heart of Funchal team was a cooking smell left from a previous guest.

An extremely central location with all the amenities

Pros: The location was excellent and the apt had everything one could need (dishwasher, microwave, washing machine etc). We did not use these as we did not cook at home. It was nice to have the bedroom in the back away from the busy street so it was quiet as I am a sensitive sleeper. It was close to the main parking, supermarkets and many good restaurants. The hostess was also exceptionally reactive and helpful.

Cons: Nothing, everything was great.

Great place for a stay in Funchal

Pros: Great flat right in the centre of Funchal. Despite it, it's very quiet. The place is very cosy and comfortable. I've also appreciated how clean it was!

Very Pleasant and easy stay

Pros: Very convenient for an easy stay. The washing machine, kitchen facilities and air conditioning made it very comfortable. The grocery store is right around the corner, so is underground parking (15 euro for a full day) everything is walking distance. Everything you need for a really pleasant self catering stay.

Pros: Apartment is very comfy and location is best part of Funchal.

Fantastic apartment in the heart of Funchal

Pros: Such a lovely little apartment building right in the heart of Funchal on a lively, bustling street. The check in process was smooth and we were given great information about restaurants, activities and supermarkets in the area. The apartment was so spacious and clean. Beds comfortable with great air conditioning. The apartment had everything you could possibly need for a stay in Madeira. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable apartment right in the heart of Funchal. I would stay here again!

Cons: Nothing I can fault!! The only thing I’d say is I’d love a full length mirror in the apartment but that’s just preference when getting ready. :) Cannot fault it was fantastic!

Excellent

Pros: Nice apartment very well located in the city center of funchal, they helped us with the transfer from the airport to the location for a very good price considering that we arrived there at midnight, the apartment was very well maintained with the necessary stuff for cooking. Staff super friendly and helpful l, I highly recommended it.

Cons: Anything to complain about

Pros: The location, style, and comfort of the apartment. Could easily stay for a longer period of time. Felt like home. Staff is very responsive, and they helped us to keep our bags before the check-in and after the check out. It was a lovely surprise on arrival - beautiful flowers and a lovely welcoming message.

Cons: Lack of light in the bedroom.

Pefect place for a family stay

Pros: Our stay at Apartamentos Fernão de Ornelas was absolutely perfect! The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore everything on foot. The apartment was spotless, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The communication with the property was excellent—we were able to contact them easily, and they responded instantly. They were also incredibly accommodating, allowing us to store our bags before check-in, which made our arrival hassle-free. Everything was just perfect, and we will definitely choose this place again on our next visit. Highly recommended!
